FAREWELL OREO GIRL

We took Crunch and Oreo in last June-- they were like a senior married couple and they needed a place to end their lives.   One of our wonderful foster homes, Tiffany and Mike, took them  in and we did all we could to help them.
Oreo was a sweetheart.   She could make the cutest expressions.
She was so sweet and loved a tummy rub.
Oreo went into distress this morning and after being rushed to the vet, she went into cardiac arrest.  Nothing could bring her back.   She had seven wonderful, loving months, living inside (she had lived in the garage before) and getting wonderful food.    We are so sorry that she left us this morning--- my heart goes out to her foster parents.    Rest in peace, sweet girl!

TINSEL AGAIN

Tinsel has come a long way since we took her into rescue.  She was a breeder's dog and is about five years old, but her new life has begun now that she has come into our care.
She is learning to play!   She never knew how to do that before.    She loves her humans very much and constantly wags her tail when she is with them.     She doesn't mind having her ears or eyes touched.
She loves to go for rides in the car and walks great on a leash.   She is a little timid of strangers, but once they show her they like her, she is fine.    She is housetrained and not a chewer.   That means she can be trusted in the house all the time.    (I wish I could say that about all of mine!)
She loves to sleep in the bed with you and doesn't move all night.   Her foster parents work and she sleeps quietly while they are at work (they have cameras so they can check on her during the day and she is doing fine).   Tinsel is a jumper and  likes to get on furniture.   She takes treats very nicely and has a healthy appetite-- she is a little over 11 pounds, so not a big girl.     She is also very good about getting a bath!   She will stand very still until it is time to get out.   I'm sure all this is new and she just loves the attention.
I see a bark coming-- did the doorbell just ring?    I know that makes you excited!   (You should hear my house when the doorbell rings-- oh my!)
Tinsel seems to do better with males than females-- she wants to be the top girl.     She also loves being a lap dog and following you around the house.    She is trying to make up for all the years she didn't get attention.
If you are interested in adding Tinsel to you home, just let us know!

TUCKER ADOPED

Guess who is a foster failure!! Tucker!    His mom and dad just fell in love with this little guy!
I think Tucker is VERY happy there-- cuddled up with his dad.  What do you think? :-)

MY DOGS IN THE SNOW

My granddog Leo came over-- along with Pandy, Molly's Peke mix (who we think will live forever).
Scooter is showing off his jacket.  He doesn't need to wear it often!    He has several, but this one has his name on it.  A friend made it for me.
It has  our web site on it, too.
Kai Kai wore a Navy blue sweater-- this weather is COLD!
Oh, yes, Scooter, you are so cute!
Max had on a jacket-- he wasn't thrilled.  What they all needed was boots!  But, I don't have those.
Are you looking for a warm spot, Kai Kai?
Starlight joined in-- she has inherited Cranberry's pink plaid jacket.
I think Cranberry would be pleased that it is being used.
Oh, my, but you are so cute!
 Are you running for cover?
I think Kai Kai would like to be-- he is not into this cold weather at all.
 "Let's break for the house!"
Scooter hung out on the porch-- he was busy licking the snow.
Leo came over-- he just looks puffy-- he's a black lab mix that Molly and Jeremy adopted from the shelter years ago.   He is great with Beach Bit!
He's looking for the door to go inside!
And then he and Pandy start playing-- well, Leo did.   Pandy was NOT about the snow!
She's old and just wants to get warm.    I sent a sweater and jacket home with her.    I have a collection of them.
Leo, do you want to go in?
Time to go inside!  Let's get warm!

SNOW!

I looked out and saw SNOW!
The dogs ran out-- oh no!
Stay together to hold in the warmth.
Hey, where did you go, guy!?
Max is sitting like a chipmunk.   Is there snow everywhere?
 I'm stuck!  Help the girl!
Kai Kai is not thrilled-- the next time, they'll have jackets on.   See tomorrow's blog!
 Can I go inside?
 I'm still stuck.
The small creek was still running, but everything around it was frozen.
I love how pretty it all is.
Especially before the dogs run all over it and destroy the smooth texture of the snow. :-)
 Like here...
Our house was comfy and warm-- gas heat is the BEST!
 I just kept taking pictures...
No one was using the swingset today.
Or walking down the steps to the lower yard.
It will be gone in a few days, so I'm enjoying it.  I hope you are!
