LIFE HAS CHANGED

I don't buy any drugs from the internet but I think some do. Please check out this site: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/28/warnings-about-discounted-pet-drugs/
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Beach Bit is almost 4 weeks old-- WOW. A month! He hasn't even reached his due date yet. But, he's here! I was outside with him the other day (while my daughter took a much needed nap) and two people stopped to talk to me that I didn't even know. I thought, "this is better than a puppy!"
The look of the family room has changed some-- there's a baby swing and IT HAS the little xpen around it. Don't you love it!
My dogs love having Beach Bit here-- and they're all near the swing. Notice Starlight right next to it. She loves children.
Yes, life is a little different here now. I have Pekes AND grandkids a lot. Only one grandchild lives near enough to come often-- and here he is. Beach Bit. And this week-end, I'll see the rest of the Bits. :-) My life is good!

DROOPY DOG aka Sabre

This was Snowflake at the puppy mill. The "owner" was holding him so we could get a picture. Like the rest of the Bristol 18, he had a lot of issues (worms, parasites, etc.). But, we took care of that and he began to learn what it was like to be a real dog. Kris renamed him Sabre, since Snowflake sounded like a girls' name. And he's a BOY!
He went to Kris' for fostering-- and he settled right in. He was taking a nap, with his tongue hanging out. He lost a few teeth. But, it doesn't bother him a bit.
Are you hiding, Sabre? I can see you!
He got along great with Oscar (Kris' Peke) and with Cindy (she's still available for adoption-- a sweet, pretty Peke). He was just so happy to be loved and cared for.
Can you see that happy face?! Here are some videos to show how happy he was there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dogmhBi0vZ4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaLac_8CzPohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7wXvrFqouchttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYhSegCXdiohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3An-VNVWeQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAWGX1Kngf0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhZ1HOEKF2Q
I think he knew he would not be there long-- but he enjoyed every bit of love he received from Kris.
He was adopted!!! We wondered which of the Bristol 18 would be adopted first-- and he won! His new family thought his tongue hanging out was cute, and so they named him Droopy Dog-- they name all their dogs (except one) with "D" names-- Dusty, Diggity, and Daffodil/Daffy.
Droopy Dog now lives in a wonderful home. He has toys and good food and love and lots of attention!
Droopy is happy to just rest-- a cool floor is great.
He's adjusting well to his new home and his new owners love him.
Droopy and Daffodil/Daffy are living the good life!!!

MORE ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW/AUSTRALIA

Here are more pictures of the Royal Melbourne Show and another dog who was competing there. Cute!
This one looks ready for a nap. I know this is a Boston Terrier. :-)
This groomer/owner/handler is sure having fun with this Maltese.
But, the Pekingese competition was the best part for Melinda.
I'm sure she was glued to her spot for this part of the show.
And how royal they all look.
The handlers are waiting.....it's a tense time!
They had walked them around the ring.
And the Pekese did great! Just wish I had a video-- to see their cute little walks.
Maybe Melinda took a break to go see some other things-- see anything you want?
Oh, my! What a puff!
When Melinda goes again, I know we'll receive more pictures-- this one looks truly regal! Until the next show.........

Australia Peke show

Please lift Benny's mom in your thoughts and prayers. She had major surgery this month and is now home. Benny is taking good care of her. ++++ ++++ ++++
Melinda sent me pictures of the Royal Melbourne Show in Australia. They went to see the Pekingese, even though there were a lot of other things to see there. But, this part of the show was the best!!

I love how she/he is tillting her head. I would have loved to be there!

Melinda said there were only 31 contestants. She hadn't been to the show for years. I'm sure glad she took pictures to share with me! And YOU! She knows I'll share with you.

This one looks really young-- and look at those short little legs. Don't you just want to kiss that face?

The judge for this Pekingese show was from Canada and Melinda said the judge really liked the bigger Pekes. You know the ones with LOTS of fur. She said a small Peke like her Moi Moi wouldn't have a chance. We think Moi Moi would win!

Now this is a lot of hair! Did this one win?

I don't think this is a Peke-- calling me bright. I'm quick like that. :-)

Nope, these aren't Pekes either-- but they are beautiful!

Not Pekes here either. But, I think they are having a conversation-- they're probably discussing how beautiful the Pekingese are this year!
I know this is a Spaniel-- what kind? If you know, let us know. Not a King Charles, I know that. Brittany? Not sure.

Whoa, don't pull too hard-- her eyes are getting big!

These are two beautiful-- what kind are they? You can tell I'm not too good with other breeds. It's a terrier, I'm sure.

There were a lot of other things on display-- like hand made layette items. This one won a prize.

Beautiful-- a little too frilly for my new grandson though.

This won for "decorated cake novice." Is that a cake? Melinda, you'll have to help us out.

This is another cake winner-- I'm not a cake person, but these are sure cute.

My daughter would like this one-- she's a horse person.

There were rides, people, things to eat, horse shows, dog shows........ I think this would have been so much fun.

And flowers!

But, the Pekingese were the best.

Yes, definitely the best part of the Royal Melbourne Show.

Look at those happy faces. You could get overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of these dogs. More tomorrow!!
