PATI AND THE BEACH

I can't believe today is the last day of August!  That means it's Labor Day week-end here in the USA and for many, school begins after that.  Some have already begun, but for many, Labor Day means it's the last week-end of summer!  

 Pati is a friend of mine through our Pekes.  She celebrated the last week of summer by going to the beach.  I know summer isn't officialy over until later in September, but we all know it's over when school begins for the kids.   Cici and Harley were able to go to the beach, too!

 Pati's PekesThea and Thurston had to stay home in Massachusetts. 

 Pati just went on a dream trip to Peru a few months ago and I loved her pictures!!

 Thea and Thurston didn't go there either.  😀  LOL

 But, their Peke mom and dad got to go to the beach.  Thea, Thurston and mom/dad Cici/Harley were in rescue and they were adopted by sisters.   I love all the updates we can see on facebook.

 Harley was the daddy to five pups we had in rescue-- the pair were brought into rescue and we found out puppies were on the way.   It was a fun and exciting time.

 After all the hiking and climbing in Peru, the beach was a perfect place to just chill out and relax.  Doing puzzles was great. 

 Cici just needed a beach blanket to curl up on to relax. 

 They both chilled out all week and had fun, along with the humans. 

Sadly, they had to leave today.  I think Harley was ready to head home.  Vacations are great, but it's also nice to go home again.   I can't wait until I get to go to on a short vacation soon!!

JACKIE'S CREW

 Furby posed for pictures the other day.   He's a senior who has cancer on his leg, but he still plays and eats and hangs out with his son, Rocky.

 Gizmo is one of his siblings at Jackie and Bill's home.    He's been there a long time, one of their dogs, not a foster.

 Dixie is a beauty and has been there most of her life.  She wasn't a rescue, and she can watch over all her family there.

 Rocky, Furby's son, is now about 11.   They have decided they will keep him.  He is so devoted to his dad, watching over him, playing with him, and he has earned his place there.

 Puddles came into rescue earlier this year and they fell in love and adopted him quickly.  He's glad they did.

 Bubba, are you using your toy for a pillow-- it looks like you are going to fall asleep.   It looks very comfortable!

Pepper Ann was an older rescue and they decided to let her live out her life there.   They have a big yard with a donkey, goats (am I right?) and cats.  It's a happy place to be.

Furby and Rocky will live out there lives there, too, no matter how long that is.   (Rocky didn't really want to be in this picture haha.  He saw something far more interesting.)   So, that's the Camp Kent group-- all happy and doing great! 

FURBY AND ROCKY

 Furby and Rocky came into rescue in March of 2017.  Furby is the dad and much smaller.

 Furby and rocky were adopted but both came back to rescue.  Sometimes it’s just not a good fit.   Furby has cancer but seems to be determined to stay awhile.  You go, Furby!

A DAY AT THE BEACH

 I took this picture last month-- we went yesterday and it was not so calm. 

 Sometimes, in rescue, you just need to step back and listen to the ocean. 

 As cute as the dogs are (my granddog Callie here, who spends a lot of time with us now), sometimes, you need to get away.

 "WHAT?!"  Paddington is in shock that I might need to get away.  Taking care of so much in rescue is a lot of work and can be emotionally draining at times. 

 So, my daughter and four of the Bits and I took off to the beach.  It's only 15 minutes from us, so I sometimes go with my coffee and listen to the waves and nothing else.

 The boy Bits had so much fun.  They will be in third and fourth grades this year!

 The waves had a turbulence about them yesterday that you can't see in a picture, but it was more than we usually see.   So, we made the Bits stay close--  oh no!

 We got home and Callie was glad to see us.

 Paddington was thrilled!

"What took you so long!?"   Really, Paddington, we were only gone a few hours.  LOL

YUM YUM-- IT'S COLD OUT THERE!

Yum Yum lives in Australia.

So, it's winter there. 

But, the yard still needs to be mowed and he's a big help.

He loves playing ball and his thick coat keeps him warm.

Maybe if he puts the ball in front of the lawn mower....

 It will stop!   Let's try.

Yum Yum's mom and dad have beautiful Camellias in their yard. 

 This one is called "Bob Hope."   I wonder why-- anyone know?

As we wait for cooler weather, they are waiting for warmer weather and Yum Yum's summer cut will come before it gets hot.

ARCHIE COMES TO VIRGINIA

A friend of mine was looking for a Peke-- and we didn't have any right now.   So, she checked and found a puppy in a rescue in Kentucky.  WOW.

She brought Archie to meet me-- and he was not impressed with the toy bears Sugar Bit offered him.

Don't you like them?

He wasn't sure what they were-- these aren't for dogs!  LOL

Piper was so interested in him!!  Of all the dogs here, Piper is the best.  He is just so sweet!

Look at his face.  And he already knows how to fetch and sit.

SIMON

 Simon came into rescue in 2014. He was young and the owner had too much going on.  We were happy to get this sweet boy.

He loving owners have stayed in touch w updates on their boy.  He has brought sunshine to their lives.   Simon says (no pun intended) HAPPY SUNDAY!
