FAREWELL PIP

In November of 2022, this sweet girl was in a NC shelter.  They called her Peg.   She had been a stray, and she only had a short time to be rescued -- we stepped up.  We renamed her Sweet Tater.
We took her to our vet and then she went to her foster home.
She met Mei Mei, Ren and Jinjie.  They were her foster sisters.
We were told that she was blind-- but she wasn't.  Her cloudy eye had no vision, but it was "healthy."   Her foster mom, Beth, began calling her "Pip."  It stuck. :-)  "Pip" was very smart.   Her foster mom and dad blocked the stairs.  But it was no deterrent.  Pip managed to move the gate and follow her foster dad upstairs.  She was determined to be near her people.
After her medical procedures were done, Pip was adopted in February, 2023.
She had a new brother named Sparky.   He's a sweet one!
They got along so well.  And look at Pip's smile.  Such a happy girl.
Her mom wanted to show me her Phyllis Diller look. :-)
Pip wasn't doing well, and on her last vet visit, she was given pain meds to help her until the at home vet came to help them let Pip go.   They asked if I would come over and I was so honored they asked.   I had helped Pip get out of the shelter, and I was there to say good-bye.
Pip left with her mom and dad by her side.  She was so loved.
Run free, precious, beautiful girl.  💜

FAREWELL STELLA FEY

Stella Fey came into rescue the end of November last year.
Her owner went into hospice and wanted her girl to have a good home.
She came to my home for fostering.    She had all her medical done.   She had no vision in her left eye, but she just had drops to keep it moist.
She didn't make a sound at first.  One day, when my husband came home, she followed him, raised her head and gave a big SILENT bark.  Then, she kept trying and this tiny tiny "woof" came out.   I've never had one that barked like that.    It was precious!
Stella could be a little pistol but her new mom and dad adored her!
Her dad was totally enamored with her.  💖
Stella had settled in at my home, but in her new home, she was the only dog and got all the attention.
She did have a cat brother and she terrorized him.   Poor guy!
About a month ago, Stella began have health issues.    She was walking in circles and had a head tilt.  The vet thought it was vestibular disease.  She began taking medicine and it looked like it was helping.  She was getting a referral to Duke University.  But, she took a turn, and they rushed her to the vet.   They were going to take her back a few hours later, but Stella wasn't going to fight anymore.  Her mom and dad were beside her as she took her last breath.
They only had her 6 months, so this is a shock for all of us.   She was probably over 10, but not old.   She was an amazing little girl-- she can now run free with no discomfort.   You are loved, Stella Fey. 💜

HAPPY LAST DAY OF JUNE

I was meeting my daughter so she could take one of my grandsons home. The first face I saw was Tuk Tuk.
Of course, I went over to greet him.  You can’t see it but his tail and back end were wiggling so fast and he was so excited to see me.  Just made me grin.
By the time we met, the horrendous tunnel traffic was gone.  We could enjoy looking at the bay.
And watch the sun go down.  I can’t believe it’s the last day of June.  This month went by fast!

HAPPY SUNDAY!
(And I’ll try to catch up on some Peke things too.)

OH TOASTY

Oh Toasty!

Toasty was thinking important things.  But then he forgot what those thoughts were.
He remembered!  He wanted to go for a walk. So he gathered all the leashes he could find.
Tuk Tuk just shakes his head.  Toasty is always up to something.  And Tuk Tuk is usually involved. 😂.
Yes I see you two. You are planning something.  I’m sure we will soon find out!

SOPHIA FRANCESCA GOES ON VACATION

Sophia Francesca is a beautiful girl.   Her mom has adopted from us, so Sophia is an honorary PVPC Peke.
She went to an island off the coast of Maryland for vacation.
It looks like a perfect place to relax.
And I think her mom and Sophia did just that.
So many places to sit and Sophia looked like she was trying them all out.
We are still trying to figure out where we can take a few days off.   Have you gone on vacation?  Sophia highly recommends it!

FAREWELL MONK AND NIPPY

Farewell sweet ones...

Monk (Luna in the middle) and Nippy came into rescue in 2008..
They were littler mates. Nippy loved snuggles with his human sister.
Their family decided to keep them. They were part of the family.
Luna joined them as a foster sin 2019. She was 3 years old and had a back injury. The vet said not to do surgery, but to do exercises and Luna healed!
The three were best friends.
The brothers got older and were having many health issues.
Monk had a heart condition that became very serious. His paw is holding on to Luna.
Nippy had liver cancer. They both began having seizures. Nippy depended on Luna, his emotional support dog.
Luna is lost without her brothers. She will be given so much attention as she and her mom begin healing together.
Run free sweet boys. You were born together, you lived together, and you left together.
What a life of love you had.

TD - ATTACK AT HIS HOUSE

TD is bummed out.  What is all the racket?
It's outside somewhere.  He can hear it.
Someone is trying to break in!  TD is on guard!
Wait.  Is something different.
His dad is taking pictures-- of NEW WINDOWS!
He's going to tell dad off for letting those noisy people come.  Or maybe gnaw at him a bit.
The windows do look good.   And they're special to keep sun rays out-- at least that's what his dad says.   TD just wants to look out them.
TD is going to keep a watch out for new noises.   He hears other Peke houses are under attack.
He will catch a nap now and then.
It's hard to nap and be alert at the same tie.  But TD will try.
Are there attacks going on at your house?
