FAREWELL BOBBY

Bobby was born about 2007.  He was adopted to an incredible family.
They have adopted many from us.
Bobby was good friends with Maggie, also a PVPC alumni.
They were so cute together.  I fostered Maggie and she was the cutest girl.   (She passed away in 2021.)
Bobby joined them about 2009.  He celebrated Christmas with a new family that year.
Bobby was a sweet and gentle boy.  How did he end up in a shelter?
I think he was posing for this picture in his adorable plaid coat.
He was healthy and quiet--he was perfect.  Look at that face. πŸ’™
He loved his toys.
And he had many to choose from.
He was his mom's heart dog.  He gave Nelly so much love and comfort.  He was a very loyal companion.
Bobby stopped eating.  He was 17 years old.   His family said he was the most perfect Peke.
They said, "He was sweet, loving, playful, friendly, quiet, a truly wonderful soul. We remember the day Tiffany dropped him off at my mom’s like it was yesterday.  We do want to thank you/PVPC for rescuing him.  He was a true blessingπŸ’™."
RUN FREE SWEET BOBBY.  Maggie and so many others are waiting for you.

HALLOWEEN AND BIRTHDAYS

These two were Snuffles the Pooh and Schmoo Tigger last year. I wonder who they will be this year!  We'll have to wait and see.
Today isn't just Halloween, it's Finley's birthday!
Finley was a foster failure and he is 8 years old today.
Happy Birthday!
These are the Parks Pups.   Their mom makes their outfits and they won the contest for best costume.
Karma, Jesse, Roxy, and Maggie are Paw Patrol characters.
Karma is tiny and adorable.  Karma is so precious.
Maggie is a pet therapy dog and she was all dressed up to go to Ronald McDonald House to cheer up children and parents.   I know she helps them all.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!   Share your Halloweens pet pictures.

SCOUT AND FRESIA OF CAMP TUMBLEWEED

Fresia is a resident of Camp Tumbleweed.  She loves it there!
Their mom interrupted them decoding a secret dispatch from Camp Runamuck.  The Snackington Wars continue.
Fresia and Scout are constantly on the watch.
Oh no!   Attackers?
Relief!  It's just a deer.   But it could have been the enemy, so they will keep their guard up.
I did hear that the girls read the blog about Callie and my waffles.  They want me to know they haven’t had anything nice for breakfast or for second breakfast or for elevensies either.  (I'm sure that is not true-- I've seen their mom give them bananas and other yummy things.   And I know they like rice cakes.) They would like to be invited to breakfast (or second breakfast) and have one of the waffles.  I'm sure Callie will be willing to share.    Come on down!

FAREWELL MOMO

In May 2023, we were asked to help four Pekes in NC.  Momo was one of them.
He was the son of Joey and Zoey-- a brother/sister.   Momo was born with multiple "inbreeding" issues.  He was blind, and he was a little "off."
His mom Penelope "Baby" was older but she was a tiny precious girl.   (She passed away in October of multiple issues-- pacing, confusion, severe anxiety and she was very uncomfortable.  She was set free from all her pain.)  All were adopted except Momo.   And his temperament was determined to be unsafe to adopt out.
He went to his permanent foster home.  He lived with other dogs, and Sunny was his friend.  Sunny is also blind.
Momo had a loving home there.  He was cared for and loved.   He finally found some peace.   His foster parents had to be cautious with him-- he had good and bad days.  But they had difficult ones before, and they loved Momo regardless of how he acted.   We believe he just couldn't help it.

I wrote a few days ago that Momo wasn't doing well.  He was coughing and have trouble breathing.  The vet saw masses on his lungs and we knew that probably wasn't good.   Meds were begun, but yesterday, it became obvious that he was in great distress.  He was having trouble breathing at all, and was coughing badly.  The vet stayed open late so Momo could be set free and be able to breathe easy over the Rainbow Bridge.   His foster mom said, "I think he knew he was loved here."   I know that he did.   Run free precious boy.   You can now see and run and be happy.  πŸ’™πŸŒˆ

A LITTLE HUMOR

We start each day the same.  The dogs and I get up.  Sometimes, Cinnamon starts to bark at me to say she's READY to start.   So we start.
Piper has his watching station to check if anything is going on near our house.  We go outside, me getting my coffee on the way.  We wander around the yard and then breakfast!  The most exciting part of the day.  Next to dinner of course.
I began some laundry and was away from my spot on the couch for a few minutes.
My breakfast was on a plate by my spot.   And guess who showed up.   She loved my waffle.  Glad you liked it Callie!  Callie is a Treeing Walker Coonhound, but my husband is now calling her a Treeing Waffle Coonhound.   We could call her all kinds of Coonhounds-- carrots, apples, noodles, bread... You name it, Callie likes it.
And on top of it, she took my spot.   Thanks Callie.   So I moved.   SHE was having a great time.
I went to the other end.  Paddington and Cinnamon beat me there.  They did let me squeeze in by them.   I got just a tiny space.  I was grateful.  πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY HUGO!

Hugo was adopted in January 2021.  His previous owner could no longer take care of him and his new owner was so happy he came to live with her.
He lives in New York and he gets long walks.  He loves those.
In New York, it means that Hugo sees a lot of autumn color.  I'm sure it's beautiful!
I found this picture of New York City as the colors are changing.   The colors are more vibrant than in Virginia near the beach.   We don't get the cold snaps that help the leaves turn so many colors.
He has celebrated his 6th birthday this month.   He is so excited
He spent his birthday just hanging out and being lazy.   On your birthday, that's a great idea!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUGO!

Enjoy the city.

HAPPY SUNDAY FROM TD

TD was a foster and he was a little cantankerous. His
foster parents adopted him.  He loves them.  His favorite place is on his dad’s lap and nibbling on his fingers.   TD is not even 11 pounds— so much smaller than he looks.
He also loves snuggling into his soft beds.
 He is 13-14 now.
TD looks calm here but if he thinks it’s time for breakfast, the whole house will know. πŸ˜‚  I do think he wants us all to have a Happy Sunday!  πŸŒžπŸŒž

THE WEST VIRGINIA DOGS

Remember the West Virginia dogs we helped?   Charlotte loves her new home.
Bentley is so loved now.
Emmie (Clementine) and Belle (Sable) love being together!
Well, now three puppies have been found by the same person, Stephanie, who found the West Virginia 6.
They were dumped-- Stephanie lives high on the mountain.  Dogs don't get there themselves.
These puppies are adorable.  Two have found good homes and one is left.
Thank you Stephanie for giving them refuge until they find their own places.  πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

(If you're interested in the last puppy, let me know.)
