EDDIE AND MAPLE

Eddie (Kris of the πŸŽ„rescue) said “It’s icy outside.”
Brock of the West Virginia rescue is Eddie’s brother. Their mom Lisa has helped w a lot of the rescue dogs and she fell in love with these two.
We were asked to take in this one and she made her way to us on Thanksgiving Day.  Lisa had always wanted a female foster and she wanted an albino if one came into rescue.  Lisa named her Maple.  Like Maple Syrup. And maple syrup is sweet.  Maple was too scared to be sweet.  She’s making progress.
She fits right in w the rest.  Fancy (the red one) is also there — she’s a permanent foster due to special needs.
They are all snuggled together inside!   The roads and yards are pure ice.  They might get more snow today.  A big storm is coming in and my area is supposed to get hit.
So if I don’t post, it will be because we lost power. Hope we don’t.  Stayed tuned!  ❄️❄️⛄️

TIME IN THE SNOW

Gomez lives in the North East and it's really cold there.  But look at him go in the snow!
"When can we go outside again?" he says.
Wicket "Wiggie" is all set for his walk.  He and his mom and Luna, his doggy sister, go on a lot of walks.
The snow didn't slow them down.
Ernie belongs to a friend of mine.  He LOVES the snow and going for walks every day is a highlight.   I don't know if more snow is coming this weekend, but I know it will be cold.  So, break out the jackets-- yours and the dogs.  Winter is in full swing here.

MORE SNOW COMING?

Zeke is not crazy about the snow.   Don't tell him another snowstorm might be coming.  He won't like that one bit.
At my daughter's house an hour away, the front yard turned to ice.   The temperatures in our area won't get above freezing.
Simon and his friend are watching to see if snow comes.
Hunter had snow last week-end.  He is fine with wearing jacket.
Jingle on the other hand was not on at all happy about his jacket with a hat on it.   You can do it Jingle. πŸ””
My dogs will hang out at their usual place on the couch. Can you see 3 dogs. Cinnamon and Paddington blend together.   Dickens is behind me.  They also get on the ottoman where they can see when the weather changes. ❄️❄️
Eddie looks like he’s trying to hide from the weather.  It’s cold out there.

Some areas will probably get a lot of snow.

Granger is ready!  Bring it on.
Cinnamon’s face shows what she thinks about it.  She’s not a fan but she will go out and walk under the deck.
Let me know if you get snow where you are.

WELCOME TO RESCUE BRUCE

Bruce was at the same shelter as Louie.   We got them both the same day, before the weather was supposed to change.
We were told Bruce has a 4/6 heart murmur and the shelter could not do the extensive dental that he needed.  He was a medical intake even though he was not a Peke.
He's estimated at 9-11, but his energy level doesn't match that number-- or he could just be a very active older boy.  He loves walks.  He loves people, he is great with other dogs.  This little boy is awesome.
He was so good for all of his exam, and then he rolled around on the floor.  The vet checked his heart by listening and by an ultrasound.  And guess what-- it's not that bad.   He has a 3/6 heart murmur, but no meds are needed at this point.   We will set up a dental for him.
He asked his foster mom to pick him up.   This boy is SO sweet.
I guess he saw the computer screen, and it had a dog that looked like him!  WOW he said.
Another dog came up.  Bruce was mesmerized.
All done and time to go.  Don't apply for this one.  He has a home waiting.  When we thought he was a very medical dog, someone said she would take him no matter what his condition was.  (And she's adopted before from us so we know she's wonderful.) Well, now she's getting a treasure of a dog.  This boy was easy to fall in love with.  πŸ’™

WELCOME TO RESCUE LOUIE

LOUIE
Louie was in a shelter near me.   Could we help him?  We could.  Look at that sweet face.
He went to the vet to get his first rescue checkup.    I think he had something to say.   The vet groomer fit him in Monday morning to be groomed.  He's all cleaned up and ready to go!

He did not want to get bloodwork done though.  He went to my friend who took care of him over the weekend.  He wanted her to help.
I wasn't sure what to expect-- all I knew was in the shelter paperwork, but I was so pleased with him.  He weighs 11.4 pounds and needs to gain some weight.  He is 5 years old.  His nose is a little longer, so maybe he has a little Tibetan in him.  It's a guess.

Louie will be neutered on Wednesday, and then he will see the ophthalmologist next week.  He has two cherry eyes and they will need to be repaired.  A new life just began for this boy.  πŸ’™  WELCOME TO PVPC LOUIE!

THE SNOWSTORM

Granger had some snow!   Not a lot, but enough to invigorate him.  He was so excited.

Tuk Tuk was racing circles around Granger and around the yard.  Granger is older, but he was doing a few spins himself.
At our house, when I woke up, there was white all over.  But, within a few hours, it was becoming slush and later, it was all gone.   Piper had a warm sweater on.  The rest had thicker coats and Cinnamon has one picked out for tomorrow.
I thought we'd have a nice day inside...
..by the fire and with white everywhere outside.   It didn't happen.
Toasty had a lot more than we did.   He's in New York with his girl and he was having the blast in the snow.
He was racing around.  He has such thick hair that he didn't have his jacket on.  When he's out for walks, he has a variety of outerwear.

I wonder if his snow will stay-- did other areas get a lot?   It's still January-- maybe we will get more later.  I do enjoy a short length of time sitting by the window and enjoying the view of a snow covered back yard.

PEPPER--A BABY IS COMING

Pepper came into rescue in December 2023.
Her foster parents fell in love with her and adopted her.

Her mom is expecting a baby.  The room is being set up and Pepper is excited.  Is her brother Bandit excited, too?

Pepper might be resting up now-- sleepless nights are coming once the baby arrives.
Exciting times are coming soon! 🍼

ABNER- IS SNOW THERE YET?

A few years ago, Abner's house had a lot of snow.  They've shared so many pictures of their home in all seasons, but I'm amazed at how much snow they can get.  They are up north in New York.  Can get cold up there!

Cheech is watching for weather changes.  He has a thick coat and a real coat on him.
Abner and his friends, Patch and Cheech will be inside most of the time, but I'm sure their feet will touch the snow this week-end.  Quickly.
They have friends who are bigger, but they'll be inside, too.   They can have a long play time later.
Will there be time for play?  Maybe when the snow stops coming.   Then, Patch can organize a game.
Snow in New York can be so high.  Little tunnels can be racetracks, too.  If you're getting snow, share your pictures with me.  (Please don't share if you don't want them used in a blog-- you are all my best photo takers.)  Everyone stay safe, keep your pets inside, and share how you are doing.  We are concerned about everyone in the path of Winter Storm Fern. ❆❆
