They called her Monkey Boo-Boo and loved on her like she hadn't been loved on before. We were told she was 7, but the vet said she was definitely a senior girl. (I love the seniors-- I know I keep saying this, but I do.)
In her foster home, she loved to eat and run. She loved having attention and was wonderful with the other dogs.
A friend of mine-- a true Peke angel-- fell in love with Pekeaboo. She wanted her to live with her the rest of her life-- and in February, she went to her forever home. Her new mom adored her, and Boo-Boo acted like she had always been there.
Boo-Boo had a stroke in early May and went to doggy heaven. Her new mom said, "like many foster dogs, I think she was an example of rescue dogs being like onions w/ the layers of issues; one problem is fixed and another one rears its ugly head. I have been in a state of shock all day. "
She continued to say, "BooBoo was w/ me for only the blink of an eye, but I think that's one of the unknowns w/ adopting older dogs. We don't know what they've been thru and can only hope to make their remaining time on earth better. I was totally wrapped around her paws and she knew it from the very start. She made me laugh and she'd look at me w/ such love; she knew she was loved. I loved her from the first time I saw her photo on the website... she was sporting "the windblown look." She touched me deeply and I can't thank PVPR enough for allowing me the opportunity to be loved by her. "
We want to thank Boo-Boo's owner for giving her that love-- we are the ones who are grateful for all she did for Boo-Boo. Rest in peace, Sweet Boo-Boo.
What a sweet face. How fortunate for Boo-Boo that she was able to receive such unconditional love and devotion even if for a short time. She deserved it! Saying prayers for her human family that misses her so much.
ReplyDeleteBoo-Boo went to Rainbow Bridge knowing she was loved, and in the end, that is all that matters :)
ReplyDeleteLinda , please tell this to Boo Boo owners from me - I had Rosie my senior rescue pug for just a year and felt terrible for it was such a short time that she got love, care and happiness, then, a friend told me - "You had Rosie a year but Rosie, had you in 7 dog years" . I felt a bit better, she did have us alot longer when you look at it that way!!!
ReplyDeleteI do hope they get another doggie .
