Time to Clean the Deck

IF YOU LIVE IN OUR RESCUE AREA AND CAN HELP FOSTER, I NEED HELP. THERE IS A YOUNG PEKE IN THE SHELTER NEAR ME AND I NEED A FOSTER HOME FOR HIM. HE'S BEEN SEIZED FROM THE OWNER AND I MUST HAVE A FOSTER HOME. HE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND ABOUT 8 POUNDS-- VERY THIN. PLEASE EMAIL ME AT HAVENINHIM@AOL.COM IF YOU CAN HELP. I'M GOING OUT OF TOWN SO AM UNABLE TO FOSTER HIM. I HAVE A HOUSE/PET SITTER WHO WILL BE HERE WITH ALL MINE, BUT CAN'T GET A NEW ONE FOR ME.
I just found out there are THREE Pekes in this shelter. I need foster homes.

If you own a house, there are things you just need to do every year or so. Like cleaning and resealing your deck. We had to do that this year-- that is the "royal we" which means Matt had to do it! And the dogs were NOT invited to help. They had to stay in the yard or inside. They look like they're suffering-- NOT.
The deck was gated off so they couldn't help. Everything on the deck was in the yard or on the brick pathway. The chairs, the hammock, the plants-- all removed.

It was pretty crowded once all that stuff came into the yard.

Pots were put on the Pekingese loungers-- and Starlight looked at me as if to say I had put things on HER place. Oh, well, Starlight, life is rough.

The umbrellas were leaning on the fence. The hammock was not doing its job of supporting me-- it was just hanging there. Flower pots were placed randomly around the yard.

The deck was empty and the work began. I observed carefully so if Matt needed my opinion, I could give it.

Yes, it was a mess below-- the hammock supports were just "there."

The dogs just didn't understand why they couldn't get on their beloved deck! So unreasonable!

Now the deck is finished!! Matt even pressure washed all my metal furniture and I gave it another coat of glossy black paint. And I DID THAT! All by myself-- :-).

My gazing ball is back in place, and Max approved-- you can see his tail in the corner.

Yes, I think he is happy-- now he can hang out in his corner where he can watch over his domain. We need protection from attack birds and squirrels.

Max is such a great dog-- he takes his job seriously!

Now that the deck is done, I'm sure I'll find more projects we can do while Matt is off work for a few weeks.
