CHARLIE ADOPTED!!
I want to share an email from the lady who helped us get Charlie out of a small shelter in Maryland. He was on the list to be put down. But, we got him out and our foster mom in Maryland took him in. He was so sweet! He had been left in his home by his owners after they moved out-- leaving him there alone and afraid. His shelter picture shows how forlorn he was.
He was cleaned up, given a haircut (no way to save his coat with knots all over), and good food. He learned to play and love his foster mom. He was just a happy boy! And he was ADOPTED!!
Here is the email from the lady who was instrumental in helping us get him out: "I have to tell you that this is one of the most heart warming adoptions I've ever known of. That week he came out of the shelter was my birthday week. "
"I was determined to get every single dog on the At Risk out of there alive. I took 9 myself. The others, including Charlie, I asked other rescue groups to take. When I met him, I thought to myself, "OK, this is going to be the hardest one--he's old, sickly looking and has a bad eye" You did the most."
"Your group took the one that had the least chance of getting out of there alive. I thank YOU for coming though for him. I cried for him the night I left him there because I truly believed he would die there. What a great Thanksgiving this will be knowing that together we saved a dog who needest us so very much. "
This is definitly a cool story! I'm so happy for that little guy, and for all the Christmases he'll have in the future!
