SUET-SUET REMEMBERED

I've been talking to Suet-Suet's daddy through emails. They really appreciate all the sweet thoughts that were put on the email about Suet-Suet's passing and also on Facebook. When we lose a pet, it helps so much to know how many people are standing with you in their hearts. Most of us have lost at least one beloved pet and so we know the ache of losing one. Seeing things the next day/days that belong to our beloved pet-- a rug, bed, or water bowl-- can fill us with sadness, but also with love. When Suet-Suet's mom saw his empty water dish the next morning, she filled it up "so his spirit would not be thirsty when it makes its way back to us." I thought that was so precious.
Suet-Suet's mom and dad wanted me to share this beautiful picture. It was on their wedding day when they became a family. Suet-Suet wasn't allowed into the ceremony (I don't know why, he would have been a perfect guest!), so they took pictures outside with him. You can see he was sure happy about the wedding. I want to thank them for sharing this precious picture and for allowing me to be part of Suet-Suet's life over the past year. It has been a special gift to me to know Suet-Suet and his family.
Suet-Suet always bowed towards his food...his mom and dad called it praying to the Peke gods for a bowl of pork. He would bow, look at the bowl, bow, look at the bowl, etc at least 5 or 6 times before eating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a8YwHPEdhY
It's funny the little things our Pekes have done that we remember with such fondness. Here is a video of Suet-Suet begging for pears. Suet's first taste of people food was Asian Pears. His owners said he LOVED them, they would cut them into little rectangles and he would crunch them like an apple. The video shows him looking between his mom and dad to see which would give him the next piece. I'm so glad to have this to share.

I received this from a fellow rescuer. I thought it was poignant and wanted to add it:
I wish the Rainbow Bridge had a phone, so I could hear your bark again.
I thought of you today but that's nothing new. I thought of you yesterday and the day before that too.
I think of you in silence and often speak your name.
All I have are memories, and pictures in a frame..
I love and miss you...

  5. Thanks to all of you for your support. This has been a rough week for us, but we are looking forward. While we re not rushing into it, we will get another peke, probably next year, to give us time. In their love, energy, and intelligence-pekes cannot be beat.

Suet-Suet was a good boy and lives in our hearts.
