Sammy was one of my foster dogs in 2006. He came from a hoarding situation and little Sammy was blind. (We don't know what happened to him, but he was never cared for.) His new parents doted on this sweet boy and so did Winston, his best Peke friend. Winston was Sammy's Guardian Angel right from the beginning. If Sammy wanted the bed Winston was in, he would paw it and Winston would get up and go lie down somewhere else. When Sammy went outside, Winston would go with him and then bark to let his mom know Sammy was ready to come back in.
Sammy was in congestive heart failure and on meds for some time, but he got much worse and died in his mom's arms. Sammy started life with everything against him, and left life with love and care and parents and "siblings" who loved him. We are so sorry for your family-- rest in peace, Sweet Sammy.
So very sorry for the loss of Sammy. I know your hearts are broken. Glad he had Winston for a Guardian Angel. My sympathy to his parents and siblings. RIP Sammy!
ReplyDeleteDear Sammy finally found what all dogs should have from the start - love and kindness.

I am happy Sammy came into your lives and touched them with his sweet, loving nature and sorry that you have lost such a wonderful companion. My deepest sympathies.
ReplyDeleteA well lived life, he did not need sight to see love from both his brother and the family HE adopted.
