He is with Joyful Grace's foster mom--Sherry is very good with the older, critical Pekes.
So, when we were asked to take Sir Gizzie, we said yes and Ida and Sherry coordinated to meet up and get him care as fast as they could. He had medical care and a much needed bath and shave down to allow him to feel clean and cooler. He was so matted.
Sir Gizzie was not eating, he was having syringe feedings and fluid, he was in serious condition and very thin. His mouth was so bad-- so we had to make a decision. Do we do the much needed dental to relieve the pain in his mouth, so that he will eat.... Or do we wait. We knew time was not on our side. So, he had his dental yesterday and came through. We were all so relieved!
He was very druggy after surgery, but he was alive and hopefully, he will begin to eat. He had painful roots on his teeth, some very exposed. He lost ten teeth, and now his mouth can heal. (No wonder he didn't want to eat!)
He is back with Sherry, being cared for the way she cares for every Peke in her care. And of course, he is stealing her heart. The special ones do that. He is only 10-11, but had a rough life. We hope he will soon be eating and happy. We love you, sweet boy.
Sherry does such wonders......I hope Sir Gizz is feeling much better with those rotten teeth out !
