FAREWELL MACAROON

Macaroon was turned into a Roanoke shelter by his owner in 2012--
We guessed he was about 5 years old at the time-- but we never really know.
He went to a foster home in Virginia Beach and settled right in.
He had mobility issues because of a disc issue in his spine.
As long as he didn't do steps, he was fine.  He was a little wobbly, but that didn't get in his way.
He was so cute and always had that wide eyed surprised look.
We never know why some dogs are adopted, and some are not.
 But, no one adopted Macaroon.
He was good with other dogs, and fine with cats, so why didn't anyone want him?  So, his foster mom Toni, adopted him and he lived the rest of his life with her.  Toni and I have been friends for years, and her dogs are the lucky, loved ones!
Macaroon had more and more issues and last month, he decided he was done.  It was time to go to the Rainbow Bridge with so many of his friends.   He left a heart broken family, but also joy that he had such an incredible life with them.  Run free now, little man!!  💙

  1. Macaroon was much loved by Toni and I do not know why he was never picked for adoption... he was so cute - I would pick him but he was meant for Toni and I know he will be so missed.

  2. Tears today for Macaroon despite knowing he had a wonderful life with someone who loved him and gave him the safety of a good and wonderful home.

I always get teary-eyed when a fur baby leaves us. It has happened in my own life and I know the empty hole each one passing leaves in my heart.

So farewell Macaroon, you were a lucky little guy who won the rescue and adoptions lottery.
