I've been working on trying to get a dog into rescue-- but it's not always close, or easy.
Some are close to me, like Chumley was (who is ours now), but some are in rural areas. Some are near the mountains, not near the coast like I am.
Mattie was a foster girl here, and she was easy to get. But, sometimes, we have to try to find people to transport, or hold over night, or get medical care right away or......
And sometimes, we get them, and sometimes we don't. But, we try. It can mean a lot of paperwork, and helpers and money-- and sometimes, it's frustrating and hopeful and joyful. Rescue is a LOT. A lot of time, resources, people, emotions. Is it worth it?? YES. When we can help a little one, it is always worth it. So, we keep trying. Thank you to all of you who make it possible. I just wanted to give you a big THANK YOU!
This is a great reminder that rescue isn't just the person who posts the photos and the introduction to a new rescue, it's an army of supporters who do so many of the behind the scenes jobs to make rescue possible.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so sad at times and yet .... when it all comes together - joyful.
ReplyDeleteIts a very hard job that you all do but .... thank goodness there are people like you all in the World.
