OLIVIA AND BUTTERS

Butters came into rescue a few months ago.   He's 14 1/2 years old, blind and deaf.  So, why did we rescue him?   Because he needed help.   He gets eye drops to keep his eye moisturized and ear drops.   He's so good about it.
Olivia's owner died.   She is 16 and weighs about 12 pounds.   She was trained to use piddle pads I was told.   She gets around great for a 16 year old and likes to go on short walks.  She does sleep a lot-- but don't they all.   She does like to be with you and will follow you around.  She can still see some, better at things above her, not right in front of her, so you have to be careful about stairs.
They are doing well together at the same foster home and even cuddled up together.   They aren't attached though and are not a pair.
Butters likes to eat, so he's a little bit "round" but that's okay.  LOL  He wears belly bands inside.  If you have a soft spot for seniors, they are both available for adoption.    I love the seniors-- do you?  😍

SCOUT, MAGNOLIA’S SISTER

Scout came into rescue three years ago.
Magnolia became Scout's sister and mentored her on how to be a great Peke.
Scout was very sick when she came into rescue.  She was in the ER for days.  Gastroenteritis is very serious, but she pulled through.
She healed and became a beautiful girl.   I see that little side grin-- was she up to something?

She's kind of silly.   She loves bananas.
She loves rice cakes.
She has changed a lot since she came to us as a very young Peke.   Look at that sweet face.
She does slow down some.  Are you snuggling?
Magnolia and Scout.   PVPC beauties.  💗💜

MAGNOLIA.

Magnolia was born in 2006 so she is now 15 years old.
We were asked to take her into rescue when she was 6 years old.

Her family had bought her from a pet store and could no longer take care of her.
I had the pleasure of fostering her and couldn't find her one day-- she was sitting on the top of a toilet.  Never had a dog do that!
She was thin when we got her, but that's easy to fix.  She was a happy girl!
She was adopted by Bill and Fiona, who had adopted before.   Amelia "Mimi" was happy to have a new friend.
She sure was!    Amelia passed away in 2016 and in 2018....
Scout joined their family.
Magnolia and Scout are friends now.  Scout is only 3 years old and has a lot of energy.
Magnolia is so loved.   I adore this picture of her.
I hope we can have a meeting soon at Magnolia's house so I can see her again.  And see Scout, too.   I love seeing my former foster dogs.  And Magnolia is a special one. 💜

CROSBY-- THREE YEARS!

Crosby came into rescue in 2018.  His owners had turned him into a shelter because they could no longer care for him.  The shelter asked us for help.  He was so sweet, they kept him in the office until we could get him.
He was adopted by Tara and he began a new life.   I think he loved it!  😉
He had Triple and Maggie, and Tara's beloved Dave then, but now it's  Crosby  and his mom.  They are a special unit, holding onto the love that was there.
Crosby keeps his mom entertained with toys and funny faces.  He can bark at toys that he could get himself, but thinks his mom should get them  instead.  He can also tip over a toy basket with ease.
He has sleep overs with his mom at HER mom's house.   So much fun!
Crosby is such a beautiful boy and Tara shares him with all of us.
I love keeping up with our PVPC alumni.  Crosby is a very happy boy with his forever mom! 💙

PADDINGTON, ITS NOT CHRISTMAS

Paddington.  Why are you playing w a Christmas toy?  It’s not Christmas.
Maybe he heard the July Christmas movies.  It’s good on a hot day to watch movies w snow in them.  Very cooling.
Maybe he’s getting in the Christmas spirit.
He was even playing w Bogie.  It must be Christmas because it’s a miracle!
Piper joined in and the three boys were playing.
It’s so good to see them getting along. They’ve done so much better.  Hmmm. Maybe I should get out more of the holiday toys!

FANCY UPDATE

Fancy came to us in October of 2020.
She has been taken from a homeless woman who was living in a car.  The homeless woman was committed to a place to get help.  But, Fancy was traumatized.  You couldn’t touch her.  She was fearful of everything.
She was at Lisa’s as a foster.   Lisa just let her be who she needed to be.
Over the last nine months, Fancy has come to trust Lisa most of the time, but the trauma she endured still raises its head at time.  That fear can surface.
Because of the pandemic, it was hard to expose her to others.   Lisa has a friend they visit to give Fancy a chance to see that others are okay, too.
But, after awhile, Fancy is ready to go home.
Fancy is still not adoptable.   She needs more time.
To give her more ‘outside the house time’ (other than the back yard), Lisa found a double stroller.
Her Paisley and Fancy will go for rides and also be safe from hands reaching out to her.   (Even when we tell people not to touch, some still will 🤦‍♀️.).
Fancy can come so far since she came into rescue.   Lisa said she just follows Fancy’s lead.  But, I think it’s the love she feels there.  ❤️  Lisa is wonderful. 🥰

SWEET FEY

Fey is safe in her foster home.  She is doing well.
She was so matted in her undercoat that it effected her ability to walk.   The groomer spent hours w her at her foster home. She gently and carefully trimmed her, releasing painful pulling hair.
She can now get on a chair.  Fey was very near to starvation when we got her.  If she has not walked up to the porch of a rescue friend that day, she probably would not have made it.   She will be seeing a cardiologist because of a heart murmur.   Lack of food and nutrition can wreak havoc.
For now, she is healing, and being loved.  BG is even letting Fey snuggle w her.   So sweet.

Happy Sunday!!
