FIONA IN HER FOSTER HOME

Fiona came into rescue several weeks ago.
We were fooled by her front face picture.
Nope. She’s not a full Pekingese.   But, she’s ours now!
She went to her new foster home this past weekend.
She is a tiny sweet dog.
She’s so happy!
Hmmm.  What are the chances she is going to stay there?   I think the chances are very high.
She is already walking in the neighborhood and starting a watch from her front door.    She will be spayed and have a dental soon.   Life is so good! 💕

TAKING CARE OF SUGAR BIT

The dogs and I are taking care of Sugar Bit.   Piper, Zoey and Paddington are keeping watch.  She came home from school w a temperature yesterday.
Paddington is on the step in case he needs to get on the couch to check her temperature.
Zoey was grumpy.  Every time Sugar Bit moved her feet, Zoey fussed at her.  Oh my!
You’re supposed to help her Zoey.   Well, I guess you are because we laughed every time you fussed.  ðŸ¤£
Piper was very concerned about his girl and stayed close.
Gidget took her post on top of the couch pillows.   We will be hanging out here all day.  No school for Sugar Bit.

SISSY-MISSY

Sissy came into rescue w the Potomac Six.
She is about 12 we think.
She is such a quiet girl.  Even when she barks, it’s a soft bark.
She has a loyal soul.
Sometimes, she will make a sound, but she’s usually content to just watch from her bed.   She sleeps near me at night, at the end of the bed.  But sometimes, she comes up close.
She attached herself to me very fast.   She still battles a bad ear.  It was untreated for years, so she has a “cauliflower” ear which continues to get infections.  She is on a special diet and that has helped.
Precious Sissy-Missy.  I just love her. 💖

LUCU LU

In may of 2018, we had the chance to help Lucy.
She had been “saved” by someone.  But, they weren’t taking care of her.  She was covered in fleas and not in good shape. 🥲
Life changed!   Look at her now. 💖
Her adopter absolutely loved her and Lucy now lives w all she needs.
She has toys and beds and no fleas in sight.
Rescue changed her life.   And what a life she has now. 🥰

TUK TUK SAYS “GET A PILLOW”

Tuk Tuk has two speeds.  Warp speed and STOP.  Today he says, “it’s pillow time!”
Granger is all over that idea.  Are they pillow book-ends on the couch?
Looks comfortable to me.  Time to grab a pillow or two.
Happy Sunday!

FAREWELL SUNNY

Sunny (formerly Mugsy) came into rescue in 2017.
He was in a shelter near me and seemed like a sweet boy.
Marian fostered him, but he wasn't there long.
He went to his new home, meeting his new mom and dad at the yearly picnic.
He was with his new family almost five years.
He had a brother named Chip.  So sweet.
Like many Pekes, Sunny lost one of his eyes.
We thought he was about 5 when we got him, but he could have been older.
I love this picture, with one of the dumbbell toys that my Chumley loved so much.
Sunny moved to Hawaii with his family and I'm sure he loved it there.
He had a tongue with a black area on it.   (Some Pekes have this.)
Sunny began to have some hip issues and the beginning of dementia.    It can begin younger than we usually expect.
He was cared for and loved.
He had a medical emergency, and they realized it was time to let him be free of all his physical problems.   He left them gently and is now running free.  He will be missed.  💙   He was so loved.

MONTY BOY

One thing about rescue and having facebook-- you meet some wonderful people.
and their dogs!   You meet people and dogs from all over the world.
Monty is 12 years old and he loves to play.  He loves people and dogs and walking.
Monty lives in Denmark!   Of all the things he loves, he loves his mommy the most.
I see Monty's pictures and can see how loved he is.
Like many Pekes, he lost an eye.  It's not uncommon for this to happen.   Pekes have no nose to protect their eyes or give them warning they are about to hit something.
The nose is like a big antennae to warn of oncoming objects of danger.   And Pekes with their shallow eye sockets make losing an eye possible.   ðŸ˜¢ðŸ˜ž
Monty loves to watch his world from his deck.   His owner is Lotte and she's active on facebook, so I can keep updated on her boy.
It's an honor to meet people from all over.  I may never meet in person, but I feel we find friends with common likness and goals.  It's a gift!
