DIAMOND AND POTOMAC VALLEY LOUIE

Diamond has been through a lot.  And yesterday, she had surgery to remove her eyes.  One eye was either damaged and shrank or it never formed.  But, it was a pocket for infection.  Her right eye was so dry.  Even giving her drops every 30 minutes didn't make a difference.   She had her eyes removed yesterday.  She's whimpering some, but doing okay.   She will do so much better without the constant discomfort of her eyes.
I know dogs do fine when they lose their eyes.   This is Potomac Valley Louie.
He came into rescue in  the winter of 2011.   He was 8 months old and had been hit by a car.   His eyes couldn't be saved and we were asked to help him.
He adjusted wonderfully and is a happy boy.  His mom loves him so much and I've done blogs on his adventures.   He had no trouble living a full life.
I know Diamond will do great.  She was already blind, so now she will heal.  We are still working on her skin issues, but she is a happy little girl.  She loves the magic touch of her foster mom, Jenn, who loves spending time reassuring these special ones.    Get well soon, Diamond.  💗

It will be so good when she is not in pain from those eyes and the operation.
