ZOEY UPDATE

Zoey came into rescue two years ago-- her owner had died and she was in a shelter with Rascal.   (Rascal came into rescue also and was adopted.   He passed away in March.)
Zoey was in rough shape, bad back legs, lots of hair loss, and in need of good nutrition.
She began to blossom-- and learned to beg.
She was deaf, with little vision, and she had no teeth after her dental that removed the only 3teeth she had.   She had no lower jaw, gone from untreated infection.
She was full of love-- except when you woke her up and she wanted to take you on.  LOL
Zoey was diagnosed with bone cancer (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia).   We have continued to take care of her and I didn't tell her she had cancer, so she doesn't know.  She just keeps living her life and eats well, sleeps on the bed, dances when she wants to be picked up.
Zoey's white count was 39,000 in the spring.  (Normal is 1000-5000.)   Her bloodwork this week showed her white count was "crazy high" at over 50,000.   Zoey is a hospice foster, but she is in no hurry to leave.   She shows no signs of being sick-- bone cancer is slow progressing until the end stages.   So, she is good, loving, happy.   We love her here.   She's not leaving anytime soon.
