STELLA-- SWEET GIRL

Stella came into PVPC in October, 2022. She was turned into a shelter near Roanoke, Virginia, from a breeder in that area.
Stella had huge bladder stones when she was turned into the shelter. She had those removed surgically at the shelter along with being spayed.
Due to the size of the stones and the period of time she was untreated, she experiences incontinence and has been difficult to potty train.  However, she is very cooperative about wearing a doggie diaper.
She is not used to a leash. She seems to have no idea what its purpose is so she remains still when the leash is on. During her time in her foster home, there has been so sign of aggressive behavior toward her foster humans, her vet, her groomer or the other household dogs and cats.
Stella’s eyes are shrunken and recessed. She has extremely limited vision, if any vision at all. This does not limit her activity. She is active in the house and yard. She is best described as ’small but mighty’.  She does not take a back seat to any of the larger dogs in the household.
She loves lap time and will snooze for as long as you have her on your lap.
She has been fully vetted – vaccines, dental and spay – and is ready for her forever home. She is taking Proin to help with her incontinence. However, it is likely that her bladder will not return to its ‘pre-stones’ size. Thus, incontinence may remain.  (Diapers are easy to use, and she is so loving.)
Suzy and Stella are cuddling.   It's amazing how dogs who have come from rough situations can be the sweetest ones ever.
Stella and Diamond (another one of our fosters) are sharing a bed.   It's cold where they live and so sweaters are the dress of the day.
Other than the incontinence, she has no known medical issues. Due to her very limited vision, she would do best in an adult only home with a slower pace of life.    She will require time to learn her way around the house. As she is not currently used to a leash, a fenced in yard is required for Stella.
Stella is about 9-10 years old.  Yes, she is special, very special.  The special dogs I've had in my life have been the best, the closest to my heart.   Could Stella be the one for you?

  1. I am doing my Adoption Dance for cute Stella!
It would be lovely if Stella finds a home where she can be loved and cared for . I am sure that was never available to her from the place she came from !

So Stella .... I am dancing for a nice quiet home where you can just snuggle away and give love to whoever adopts you XXXX
