FAREWELL ROCKY

 I received a message from Jackie.  She wrote, "We lost our sweet Rocky. He came into rescue with his mom, BG, and dad, Furby.  He was the sweetest boy. He loved to snuggle and was always concerned when his fur buddies had issues. He would always alert us when Puddles was having a seizure and wouldn't leave his side. He was always watching over Bubba, Pepper Ann and Princess while they were getting fluids. His bark sounded more German Shepherd than Pekingese. He loved squeaky toys and always tried to be the first in the bark box that Poncho and Chacha would send. He would grab a toy and run, then come back for another. Toys were his thing. He and Furby were adopted but the adoption didn't work out so, they came back to us. They never left after that. I'll never forget when we went to a rescue group meeting to pick them up after they had been returned by the adopter. They were glad to be back home. BG lived in NC and died recently.  Furby left us in 2019 after a battle with cancer.  Rocky had significant heart issues.  When I found him last night, he was at the foot of the bed and just looked as he had laid down to take a nap. He was peaceful.  We laid him to rest next to Furby."

Precious Rocky came into rescue in 2017.   

He came with his mom, BG (Baby Girl then) and Ferby, his dad.  

They were all at my house for a bit.  Rocky was so timid.

But, he and Ferby were reunited and lived the rest of their lives together until Ferby passed away.   Rocky's mom, BG passed away in September.  

Rocky  loved his home.   

He and Bubba were good friends.

I know he was one of the sweetest boys ever.   

Gizmo was a friend, too.   He was the  first one to realize that Rocky had passed away.  Gizmo came up to his mom and dad as they held Rocky.   He looked at Rocky  and up at them and started crying.  It was heartbreaking.  

Rocky loved all his friends, and he had a lot there.   

Puddles was his favorite-- it's so hard when one leaves and the others are so confused. 

Rocky had serious heart issues and was on medication.  

He had eaten his dinner and went to lay down for a nap.  He passed away, gently, on his own.  

He will be so missed by his family.

Ferby and BG were at the Rainbow Bridge to greet him I'm sure.   A family reunion for them.  But, so hard for his family here.   Run free now, sweet Rocky.   You blessed so many.
