Sir Jenkins came out of a puppy mill in NC in 2013. He was about 3 years old we were told. We never really know, because records are just not kept properly.
The shelter did a great job of cleaning him up. He was in terrible shape and scared. The shelter asked us to help.We transported him to Virginia-- new life began.
He needed time to decompress and he was given that and the medical care he needed. He was only 10 pounds, but his journey to health had begun.
Laura adopted him and he loved her so much-- he was a happy boy!! He had siblings, too-- Mika (the bossy mama one), Luca (the older brother) and Milo, the youngster.
Jenkins was diagnosed with kidney disease and cancer. His mom did everything she could for him. But, Jenkins let her know that the fight was getting too hard. And Laura, with all the love in her heart, held him as she said good-bye. We think it gets "easier" with time, but each loss is so fresh and heartbreaking.
Jenkins is now with Luca, Milo, and Mika. I'm sure there was a glorious reunion. Run free now, precious boy.
Oh no, so very sorry to hear this. If you recall, we were first interested in him before Abner came along. I know he had a wonderful life with Laura.
