I'm sharing this post from my vet's facebook post. Dr. Meador is an amazing vet and has helped SO MANY of our foster dogs. She has gone above and beyond to fit them in, do surgeries, and stayed late for an animal in need. Thank you Dr. Meador.

"We are proud to announce that Dr. Meador and Dr. Hallstrom were selected as trail veterinarians for the 2023 Iditarod sled dog race in Anchorage, Alaska!(Dr. meador saw the aurora borealis, too.)
Each year the Iditarod Trail Committee selects about 50 veterinarians to oversee the health of every sled dog participating in this 1,000-mile race.
The doctors perform pre-race physical exams and examine each dog as they arrive at every checkpoint along the race from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska.
(Here is Dr. Meador with Sophie RIP in 2015.)
Way to go, Dr. Meador and Dr. Hallstrom! Thank you for taking such great care of these very special pups 🐾❤️

This past weekend was our area's sled dog races - a big deal! People come from all over our state and neighboring states as well. Those dogs LOVE to run! Weather wasn't ideal this year - too warm! - but a great time was had by all.
