He became a mama's boy.
He followed her everywhere, even when she was in the garage exercising. The bed was a little small for him, but he made it work.
He hung outside if his mom or dad were there.
We kidded that he was a king. My grandson has been writing Camp Runamuck stories, including Camp Snackington, Camp Tumbleweed, Camp Fox Hunter, the Camp Williamsburg Colonials, and Camp Australia.

King of Snackington.
Royal Admiral of the Kingdom's Navy.
Supreme Royal Commander of the Kingdom's Army.
Chair Pup of the Royal Institution of Scientific Developments.
Royal Governor of Occupied Lands.
Chair Pup of the Royal Treat Academy.
Custodian of Lord Finley's Wall (the dog gate/wall on the Snackington Border)
Royal Servant of Citizens
Chair Pup of Overseas Operations.
And last but not least, Royal Commander of Rodent Control. That's a lot of jobs!
Finley's brother (Barty or Barry, or Sir Bartington of Snackington) died 12 days before Finley. Two losses in less than 2 weeks. Barty was very old and he decided he was done. But Finley wasn't old.
Lily is the only dog now and her mom and dad are seeing how she will do as an only dog. It's not an easy transition. They take her lots of places. Finley was a big boy-- normally about 115 pounds. He was down to under 80 pounds when he just couldn't continue. He had Lymphoma and it progressed so fast.
The first time I met Finley, his big bark terrified me. But he was a big mush. 💙
After the first time, I could just walk in and call his name, and he would wiggle over to greet me. Lily is the only dog now and her mom and dad are seeing how she will do as an only dog. Finley loved his home.
He loved his mom and dad.
He loved everyone who was part of his family.
He adored his dad-- and it was mutual.
Finley was going on 9, too young to leave us. But he was so loved his entire time with his family. He was a precious boy. We will all miss him. 💙
Finley will leave a big hole in his family but that just proves that he was SO loved!!
