ABNER-READY SET CHRISTMAS!

Abner, on top, was my foster dog in 2013.  He was just a puppy.   He grew up!
He’s been a therapy dog along w his brother Patch.  What amazing joy they bring to so many in hospitals.
He loves on the staff and the patients.  ❤️
I’m sure he will bring Christmas cheer over the holidays.  There’s nothing like a little dog to encourage all of them.
Abner had some SNOW where he lives. A lot of snow!!
Stay warm Abner.  Keep doing the loving work you do. 🎄🎄

ITS STARTING 🎄🎄

It’s beginning.  Holiday pictures are being posted.  Here’s Hunter.  Hunter is 7-8 months old and is available for adoption.
Hunter WOULD get in this basket. He’s a busy puppy.
Zeke has a Christmas sweater on. It’s getting cold in Virginia! It was in the low 20’s!   That’s cold! 🥶❄️

Toasty has a new Christmas sweater.  Some gave it to me but my dogs aren’t big enough.  It says Griswold Family Christmas.   Toasty looks great in it.

Hunter is looking for Santa—maybe?   Or is he just thinking of something else to get into. 😜

You may be wondering where are the rest of the furry residents of the ranch. Well no worries friends, they are all just their perfect little selves. They did not participate because:

1.  Benny has a paralyzed larynx and partial paralysis in his back legs. So even though he loves to travel, it is not in his best interest to do so.

2.  Derek is an elderly gentleman now and is easily frightened in unfamiliar surroundings. He enjoys a comfy bed.

3. Wallace has a deep seated hatred for Santa.

Nikki Galvan

Merry Christmas!

Nikki’s pups —only one saw Santa.  That was Paulee, a PVPC alumni.  But the rest.. Nikki said Benny has trouble using his back legs so he stayed home.  Derek is an older Pit and he gets frightened easily.  The funniest was what she said about Wallace. She said he has a deep seated hatred for Santa. 🤣.

The Three Musketeers are huddling to get away from Hunter.  Puppy shenanigans are rough.  Poor Hunter.
Start sharing your Christmas pictures. 🎄🎄

WELCOME BERKELEY

We have taken in some mixes lately since there have been few Pekes to rescue.  I know more will come, but we're helping other little ones also.
This little 7.5 pound dog was turned in to a Richmond shelter.
They asked if we could help so Lisa went to meet him.   He is so sweet.
We named him Berkeley because Berkeley Plantation in Virginia is where the first Thanksgiving was held.  (It was two years before the Pilgrims.  You can look up the story on this site: Home | Berkeley Plantation)
He's been to the vet and will be neutered in a few weeks.  He needs to gain some
weight, but we can do that!
He is playing with the other dogs at Lisa's and is a loving Peke-a-Chi.  That's what we are guessing he is.  What do you think?

FAREWELL SNUFFY

Snuffy came into rescue in the autumn of 2019.  He was turned into the shelter near me.
He was such a sweet boy.  He wasn't young, but we love any age.
I also got puppy Hannah (in the middle) that autumn.  A couple came to meet them both, and they couldn't pick.   So they chose both!  l-r: Snuffy, Hannah, Sumny
They all became great friends, but Hannah was attached to him the most.
Snuffy was getting older and he was about 15.  He slept more.
Snuffy had the best life with his siblings and parents.
He was the oldest of the 3, but he wasn't looking to be the boss.
Snuffy developed kidney disease, and everything was done to help him.  When it became advanced, his mom and dad had to let him go.
Hannah will surely miss her best friend, but I know Sunny will comfort her.
Run free now Snuffy.

IT’S DECEMBER!

It's December!   It's the month where I post holiday and winter pictures.   Starlight at Christmas is one of my favorites.  She left us almost 7 years ago (January 2018), but many remember her still.

I made this before-- pictures of many past and current foster dogs.  I remember each one and the lives they went on to have.   Many many haves come through our home.
Starlight and Minnie — sweaters for the cold, and love everywhere.  Share your holiday or winter pictures.  I'll be sharing a lot of them.  ⛄❆❅
