WE SAID GOODBYE TO....

WE SAID GOODBYE......
Perhaps
They are not the stars
but rather openings
in Heaven
where the love of our
lost ones
pours through and
shines down upon us
to let us know they
are happy.

"A pet leaves permanent imprints of unconditional love and companionship on our hearts and lives. Their passing leaves a void so vast that many fail to understand your grief. A pet is family, friend and companion." Sheila

We had to say goodbye to many this year. We want to honor them, and let others know how much they were loved.

Claudine's Toby-- missed so much
Sasha.. We did all we could for you, but you had a stroke that slowly and finally took your life. Rest, little girl.
Biskit --Your Mom misse you!
Mr. Macho... He was one of our puppy mill rescues-- but he died before he could find a home. He had some loving, free days, clean bed, clean body, and play. We're glad he had that. He certainly deserved it.
Toast -- You are so missed by your mom and dad.
Josie -- You are dearly misses by your whole family.
Pearl Jaden -- She came from a shelter, and we just had to give her a chance. Her new mom did all she could for her, but she died after a few months of kidney failure. She had extensive medical care, but we couldn't fix her. Sometimes, all we can do is love them.
Allie -- Beloved dog of Jeanne's.
Marco (on the left), and Mugs (second to left), sure miss Boscoe and Clifford. Their mom misses them the most though.
Paddington Jackson
Robin's Beethoven
Bugsy
Gracie Davis... You were so beautiful. Now you can breathe easy, sweet girl. Your mom loved you so much. Sandi -- He had a loving life with his family. He was a beautiful boy.
Haley was a young one-- losing her was so difficult for her mom.
Rest in Peace, Sweet Lulubelle. I miss you. But, your family misses you more.
Gloria's Jaden last Christmas.
This is Jeanne's Yorkie on the left. Her name was Lilly Lee. Jeanne got her when she was 2 days old. She bottle fed her after she came from a puppy mill bust. Jeanne said she was a hoot. She lost her early this year when she was 16. She weighed only 5 pounds but thought she was a pitt bull. Jeanne's Penny Anne is in the middle. She died this year also-- it's been a rough year in Jeanne's family. Penny Anne was also a rescue.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Man's best friend" you hear them say. An understatement, that has to be. I just hope I was there for her As much as she was there for me.

Cindy and Amy

Before we see Cindy and Amy, I wanted to show you Darby. She is a former foster dog and she now lives in Richmond, VA. All of the gift giving and unwrapping finally took its toll. She needed a rest! I think a lot of us felt like that-- we wish we could have curled up with you. :-)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cindy and Amy came into rescue in late October. They were turned in to a shelter by a breeder who was done with them. They have had their teeth cleaned, been spayed, and have found love with their foster mom.
They enjoy each other very much, but can be adopted separately. They just want someone to love them and give them a forever home.
"Are you looking to give me a home?" If you are, email Linda at haveninhim@aol.com.

Nutmeg

Nutmeg came into rescue in December. She was abandoned in a KOA campground in S.E. Virginia. She was small and scared and had no idea why her family left her. But, they did. I will never understand.
I was called and went to pick her up. She was skittish, but as we waited to see the vet, she played with me, and just kept smiling. She knew she was safe.
She liked the vet tech who came to help her. She was very inquisitive and wanted to explore.
She went to her foster home in Richmond and is gradually adjusting there. We have realized she may have been someone's backyard breeder dog-- she had no idea what housetraining was about and she had obviously had puppies.
She isn't too sure about the other dogs there, but we hope she will learn that they can be a lot of fun.
She likes to explore their yard.
Nutmeg is a beauty. She'll just need a patient family who is willing to continue working with her. I know she'll make someone a wonderful pet. She just needs a chance. In the meantime, her foster mom and dad are taking wonderful care of her. Thanks, Essie!

Ralph-- New Home for Christmas

Ralph came into rescue in the Richmond area. A lot of Pekes comes in with "issues." But, Ralph was perfect from the start.
His foster mom's daughter came to visit and Ralph fell in love with her. He would not stay still and played like a puppy until he was so tired. He would even jump up in the air to get Charlene to hold him.
Ralph loved having his neck rubbed.
He loved having her talk baby talk to him.
He loves having her hold him, and rub his tummy.
He loved just sitting with her -- he was very content.
And guess what? She adopted him! Now he is one happy boy. He has a new sweater on. Ralph got his Christmas wish-- a new home!

Shadow, Ane and friends

Meng is Shadow's friend-- she is out in the snow and having a snack. It's a little cold, but rather tasty. :-)
"I think a warm meal might be better. Let's go in!"
"Really! I want to go in now!"
Shadow helped with the presents-- and now is posing with his beautiful tree. You're beautiful Shadow-still one of my best foster dogs!
Here is Shadow enjoying a walk on a snowy evening. His human sister said, "how very Robert Frost of him... he took the road less traveled to our house." This is a beautiful, quite-feeling picture. I love those-- thank Lara for sending it.
This is Ane, one of Shadow's friends. I think he wants to stay outside-- He's really enjoying the snow!

Merry Christmas!

Jinji was very excited about Christmas-- she even helped wrap some of the presents.
She is trying to tie the bow on one, but needed her mom's help. Good job, Jinji!
Stitch and Clarence got presents at work! Look at how much they are enjoying these. Their foster mom's friend, Cindy, loves Clarence and Stitch.

Can you see Maddie, a former foster dog? She was in a Christmas parade! She is in the picture below with her family. She wishes everyone a Merry Christmas!

We have so many Pekes that want to wish all of you a wonderful, merry, joyful and blessed Christmas-- here are some of them.

My Cranberry is hoping these gifts are for her!

And Anna is content to just have her bed for Christmas. She'd like a forever home, too!

Arbie and Trio wish you all a Merry Christmas! They LOVED the snow this week in Richmond-- Trio loved hopping around in the snow - she literally had to hop because it was too tall for her otherwise! I love her red bows!

Willie Wonton, Suzy Wonton and their mom and dad wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Missy, one of our foster dogs, wishes all of you a Merry Christmas! She is now a member of the "swashbuckler club" since she had to have her eye removed, but she is doing great!

Here she is with her brother and sister in her foster home. I love the bed line-up!

And here they are-- Missy, Wiley and Lily, all ready for Santa. They've been VERY good this year!

This is Moi Moi and Kenzo from Australia. They don't have snow in Australia-- it's summer there. But, they are enjoying our winter pictures on the blog.

These are some of the comments that our group has received this year from you. THANK YOU-- these are like golden gifts to us, and your comments, support, prayers and donations make our work possible!! Thank you to my foster homes/mom and dads who have made our rescue work possible.

"I wanted to let you know how much I admire what you do. Thanks for taking care of their little souls."
Dana

"Thanks for the up-date. YOU GUYS are doing a wonderful job at finding homes for these dear ones, Your labors of LOVE do not go unnoticed" Kathy

"God bless you for your ministry with these little dogs!" Marilyn

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS AND HELP! We couldn't do it without you! I hope all of you have a blessed day and enjoy the gifts we all have.
