FIRST AID KIT FOR YOUR PEKINGESE

We want to extend our deepest sympathy to Maria Sorrell on the loss of her Peyton. Maria fosters for our group and has brought many dogs to health and new homes. We are so sorry about the loss of your precious boy. Rest in peace, Peyton.

(Blog written by our contributing Peke, Caleb)
Just like humans, Pekingese age. Pekingese can live a long time, so a Pekingese who is 8 years old is really only middle aged! Doesn't she look marvelous?
Just like humans, Pekingese can sometimes not feel their best. That's why guardians need to be prepared.
Are you prepared if your Peke is feeling punk? Ready? Here's the list.....

IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBERS: VET, EMERGENCY CLINIC & POISON CONTROL

Don't forget fans-- take a small one to keep ready for your Pekes in hotels or friends' homes. The cool air is great, and the "white noise" can soothe them.
You can keep a larger version of this list with vet medications in a plastic tub in your home. A smaller version can be kept in your car. Check kits monthly when you do your heart preventative and flea prevention for supplies and items that carry expiration dates.Always keep a carrier, and slip lead in your car. (Remember, heat can affect the medications in your first aid kit, so there are some you must take out and have ready to go back in when you leave.)
Maximus, one of our beautiful and very smart rescues, wanted me to remind you to pack a comforting toy. Thanks Maximus!

  2. Caleb says he knows Must Love Pekes is not discriminatory to other dog breeds. He reads it daily and takes his job as a contributing blogger very seriously.
He apologizes and hopes that readers interpret the photos he uses are strictly representational to illustrate his creative writing skills. :)
