Must Love Pekes is a blog for those who love Pekingese -- their looks, their antics, their personalities. It is written by me, Linda, and I have been rescuing Pekingese for over 20 years. Lots of them have come through our home. We have loved them all.

FAREWELL REUBEN
Reuben was an amazing little boy. He was a shelter mascot near Richard and Richard made a point of visiting him often. Reuben was too sick to be adopted, but he was given much love and special care by the shelter vet. He has comfy beds, squeaky toys, and homemade food. He spent his days on his bed by the front desk. Richard spent a long night at the shelter so he could be with Reuben. Reuben passed over the Rainbow Bridge knowing he was very loved. He had been sick a long time, but amazed everyone with his determination to live. Reuben is now running the fields, free of pain and full of joy. Thank you Richard for being with him and loving him. Rest in peace, sweet Reuben.
To know love is all that one can ask of life. Reuben knew love and everyone he met knew it also.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you do.
ReplyDeleteSo very sad to read this.
ReplyDeleteReuben was such a sweet heart......Run free little one.....
ReplyDeleteGlad Reuben knew he was loved and was well taken care of...and possibly spoiled? Romp and play with my Pekes at the Rainbow Bridge. My sympathy to Richard and to all the lives that Reuben touched.
