HOT CARS

That time of year is coming when it's just not safe to leave your pet in the car because it heats up too quickly.   (I never leave my pets in the car, no matter what season.)
The temperatures can be lethal even if it's just 75 degrees outside-- the car will heat up past 115!   Keep your pets safe this summer!

  1. I got some SUMMONS cards to leave on people's vehicles that leave their pets in a hot car. The company no longer exists, but I may have some similar ones made. I usually leave a written note on the SUMMONS that they have been reported to animal control and the police with date and time! One young woman told me it was none of my business, and I told her it was! I got her tag number and wrote down the make and color of her vehicle and reported it to Animal Control. They said they would follow up! Leaving an animal in a hot car is animal abuse, and in TN, a felony!!!

  2. Good on you Ginkgo's Dad!!!

In fact - in Australia its legal to break the glass of a car in that case!
You would be surprised how many people leave there dogs and BABIES in the car locked in the heat here!!!
Last year, paramedics responded to more than 1100 cases of children locked in cars - an increase of almost 200 on the previous year.
