WELCOME SUNNY

Meet Sunny.
We were asked to take in Tang, now Sunny.   Part of her original name had "sun" in it, so Sunny seemed to fit. In spite of all she has been through, her disposition is very sunny.
She is a tiny tiny one-- 8.5 pounds, thin, bad skin, bad eyes, medically neglected.  She had been given a "haircut"-- but it will grow out.   Dale, one of our foster moms, picked her up and immediately took her to the vet.   She smelled heavily of cigarette smoke.   It will probably take weeks of baths to get the smell our of her hair, skin, and pores.     (If you smoke, I'm not trying to offend you, but she belonged to a chain smoker and this is really not good for Pekes.)
Sunny will see the ophthalmologist this morning.   She saw our Richmond vet as soon as she was picked up-- she is heartworm negative, which is amazing.   We can fix "thin"-- we can fix skin issues.  We can bathe and love and help.
We did not know if Ginger, the resident Peke, would welcome Sunny or be irritated.  But, they followed each other around and then curled up together.  How sweet it that!  Dale said, "The two girls gazed at each other, sniffed and wandered around together.  They almost talked to each other!  They shared the water bowl, and Ginger seemed to be giving Sunny a tour of the house."
Sunny picked out a dog bed and settled in.   She will need all her vaccines, bloodwork, and a dental.  But, she is safe.  And she will be loved.  She is now in our care.  A new life for Sunny has just begun.

  1. How beautiful is this. It was meant to be. The other Peke must of sensed her how much she needed love and companionship and made her feel welcome. πŸ‘πŸ‘❤️πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸΎπŸΎ
