It's hard to believe that the Bristol 18 rescue was over seven years ago. But, it was. We took in 18 dogs at one time. They were in horrific condition and we only lost one of them due to her medical condition. I fostered Poochie for awhile and oh, was he a beauty once he recovered. He has lived a life of love ever since he was adopted. He has on a new sweater and is snuggling in on a cold day. I'll do a blog on him later. Poochie says HAPPY SUNDAY!!
"We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces. It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within. We are Rescue."
I still remember reading about that Linda!! It was shocking.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling Poochie is and what a lucky boy that you all found and looked after him and he has a wonderful family for life :)
Seven years ago I was not familiar with rescue and adopt but I recall the Bristol 18 because the story was on our local news. We didn't buy our babies through a pet store but through breeders we checked on.
ReplyDeleteWhen our two passed at 13 and 14 years of age we were so lost without our Pekes and went looking for someone to fill our hearts again. We found our first one, Bandit through a local rescue operation's listing and in short order we added our second and third babies through Little Paws & Big Hearts in Maine.
Everyone falls in love with a cute puppy but as we became aware of the number of mistreated, homeless and puppy mill victims we won't give up support for the groups who take in the damaged and senior Fur Children who need homes.
