Desi had seizures and her mom, who is a vet, had an MRI done on her. Desi had a rare congenital brain cyst. Medication helped and Desi was back to her happy, loving self.
Desi had a wardrobe better than most of us. Her dad had to build her a larger closet to hold her clothes and her hats. Every holiday had a special outfit and she even loved sharing her clothes with her sisters.
Desi has a charmed life with her mom and dad. They helped so many Pekes find health, and homes. Some stayed with them, but many found loving homes after Lucinda and Roger's care.
On August 12, Desi lost her battle against sudden serious pnemonia. Her mom wrote this:
"It is with overwhelming sadness that I have to announce that on August 12th we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Diva Desi. Being in rescue, we have had and lost many dogs (unfortunately eight just since last January). We have loved them all. We have grieved over the loss of each and every one, but as anyone who has ever been owned by a dog knows, there are those that are extra special. We call them heart dogs. Those that entwine themselves into your heart and soul so deeply that their loss rips a hole into the very fabric of your existence forever. Our Desi was, and always will be, that dog for us . Our tears will eventually subside but our love for Desi never will.๐"
Desi was so special to all of us. She was met at the Bridge by so many she shared her life with. Run free now precious girl. ๐๐
I was So sad and Shocked to read that the Diva .... a beautiful midnight peke, has died.
ReplyDeleteI will miss her so ... the outfits , the hats and the attitude when posing for photo's.
The Aussies are sending huge hugs and prayers to Desi's family for she will be so missed.
* Please put that last wonderful photo of Desi in her pink outfit and hat in a photo frame.... she was having a "Barbara Cartland" moment .... only Ms Desi could channel the Romantic English novelist in her pink outfits so well.
Ms Cartland adored Pekingese (she had many) and I think she would really love our Ms Desi the Diva Peke!!!
RIP sweet one .
