SUNNY AND HEARTWORM TREATMENT

Sunny came into rescue as a heartworm positive dog.
He lived in a pen outside w other dogs.   Bought as a puppy, he was soon put outside.  He lived w the rest of the dogs for years.  He was never given heartworm preventative.   Heart worms come as a result of a mosquito bite.  As this article states:  “for the price of a weekly cup of Starbucks coffee, heartwormsd can be prevented.”   We require heartworm preventative to be given if an applicant wants to adopt from us.
When we rescued Sunny, his new life began.

He had the initial heartworm treatment (after the month of doxycycline and then a month of waiting) on Friday.   He will wait a month before the second treatment.
His foster mom, Bonnie, will take good care of him as he recovers.  Please give your pets monthly heartworm preventative for their heart and yours. ❤️
