Melrose came into rescue in 2015. He came in with two others. We don't think any were kept inside because they were very hesitant to come in.
Melrose was in a foster home in Richmond. He began to gather toys into a pile. His foster mom called him "Mel-Nosey."
Her foster mom/adoptive mom and dad decided he was home and they adopted him.
Melrose became friends with Charley, his new sister. He became friends with so many who were fostered or adopted into his home.
He settled into his new life of love. He was a very curious boy.
Melrose loved watching his mom and dad-- he thought they were great entertainment.
Melrose celebrated his 17th birthday last October. He was getting older but was still going strong.
Recently he began to rest more. His eating slowed down. In a short time, he became "older."
He slept a lot. Melrose left at his own time, in his sleep. He was in his bed in his special home.
He was with his family over 9 years. They will miss him so much. Run free and find your friends, Melrose. You take so much love with you. 💙
What a great age for a Pekingese and that is because he was loved and looked after so well!
