WILLY WONTON AND BUTTERS

Willy Wonton lives in New York City. Some days, it's just nice to veg out. He found a nice spot with his dad and is doing just that!

And is this a two-headed monster? That's what his mom calls it. I think it's just plain cute! Butters and Willy are all curled up together on a lap. Seems Willy is pretty "laid back." haha (pun intended!) These fall/winter days make me want to do the same thing!

WAR DOGS

This video shows how much dogs in the war zone can help-- these dogs were "adopted" there and became companions. Now, some get to come here and become pets.

NOVEMBER PEKE MEETING

We had the November Peke meeting at Robin's house on Saturday. There were delicious things to eat! Thank you, Robin!!! Corkey, her foster dog was there and he entertained us greatly!!

Bobby Socks, the puppy was there. He was held a lot, but finally needed to take a nap.

Little Pearl was there, along with her sister, Jules. Pearl has wry mouth, which is why her tongue hangs out. It doesn't get in her way a bit, and she is so sweet!

Jules was very happy to visit with every one.

There was a puppy under the chair-- some people reached out to pet it and realized it wasn't real. Made us laugh though!

Brewster (am I right, Robin?) was a little shy-- he wasn't too sure about all the company.

Yogi woke up from a nap so I could take his picture. He is adorable!

And then Corkey again-- he's like Scooby-Doo in his ability to entertain. He ran to everyone to get hugs and attention. He was making me laugh so much! Corkey is a big boy-- 24 pounds! He's a beautiful mahogany color and very unusual.

He did sit still for a moment so I could get his picture. I think he had a lot of fun at the meeting! We did, too. Jeanne became our official new president and had ideas on how to move ahead. Thanks, Robin! We all had a wonderful time at your home!

LATTE

These are "intake" pictures from when Latte came into rescue. He was in a shelter near Roanoke and needed to get out. Roger and Lucinda rescued him. THANK YOU!

He looks much better now-- he's clean and ready for a new home. He is about 17 pounds and loves other dogs. Latte is about 3-4 years old and very sweet.

Latte weighs about 17 pounds. He's a little "mouthy" because he loves to mouth your hands and his leash. We'll work on that. He is coming to Virginia Beach for fostering on Thanksgiving week-end. I'm sure Clarence is going to love having a new friend now that Glitter/Gracie Rose was adopted.

Bobby Socks

We took ia puppy last week. We needed a name for him. Rich's class of special students have helped us raise money for our foster dogs, so we asked if they'd like to name him. They were thrilled!

Some of the name choices were: Jeffrey, Jordan, Snowflake, Snowy.... I like them all!

But, they decided to name him Bobby Socks. And this little puppy has four white paws-- so it fits perfectly!

Thank you to Rich's class for helping us to name this precious little boy. Rich, please thank your class- we'll keep you updated on Bobby Socks!

GLITTER AKA GRACIE ROSE

Glitter joined her family this week. But, before she got there, this was her family. Joey and Jilli were Great Bernese Mountain Dogs. They are incredibly beautiful dogs. Joey was Jilli's brother, and he lived in Richmond. When he came to visit, they took a family picture. And then there's Teddy, the Peke. :-) Jilli hated having her picture taken, but Teddy was ready to be front and center! Both Joey and Jilli have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and Teddy needed a friend.

Teddy and Jilli went to Lake Superior. I would like to go there--

Teddy is lounging on the couch with Jilli and "cousin" Trevor, a Bearded Collie. Teddy needed a new friend after Jilli died, and now Glitter is part of the family.

Her parents really thought about it and decided her name should be Grace. But, they know we've had Gracie McGhee and then of course, there is Gracie Lu-- so they are deciding on a middle name for her. What would you pick? THEY JUST LET ME KNOW HER NEW NAME IS GRACIE ROSE. LOVE THAT!

I think she's trying to tell us, but we can't understand what it is! She is fitting right in though and she ran a lap around the yard on Thursday. Her mom said, "I think she's gonna be a mess when she finally comes into her own!" Yep, I think she is feeling right at home.
