HOLLY OF THE CHRISTMAS RESCUE p

Holly (on right) was one of the Christmas rescue dogs.
Her new brother Cody is happy she’s there.
It took a while.
Holly tested the baby swing that was being given away w all the baby things.  She thought it was a little dangerous.
She likes being ground level in a bed.
She and Cody each have their own donut bed.
Holly loves being held. It’s the best!  I think it wonderful for her and her “grand mom.”
Snoozing w her buddy is fun.
Holly adores her walks.  It was all new at first but now she’s very sure of herself. She also loves her morning romps outside w her dad.
Holly was just over 10 pounds when she came into rescue. Now she’s a healthy 13 pounds!
Seeing how great each of the Christmas dogs is doing brings a smile to my face.  They are such sweet Pekes.  The rescue changed everything about their previous lives.  It’s very heartwarming. 🥰

YOGI- -- NAUGHTY OR NICE

Yogi says he is ready for Christmas.  He has friends to play with, and I’m sure he will get new toys for Christmas. We were asked to take him into rescue when a shelter was overcrowded.
When yogi came into rescue, he was matted and uncomfortable. He was shaved down so there was no more hair pulling on his skin. That must have felt
His hair can be fluffy and soft or he can have shorter cuts. He’s fine either way.
Yogi LOVES playing w other dogs.  He likes going on walks, too. He would benefit from a fenced yard to run around w his friends.  He would love a playmate.
Look at that beautiful sleepy boy.
Are you looking for Santa?   It’s going to be exciting.  ðŸŽ…
His foster mom said this about him. “Yogi is house-trained, LOVES all people. He barks when he sees you, until you make him sit for petting and attention. He can hardly stand waiting for attention. He needs to be a bit sedated for grooming, doesn't bite, but is uncomfortable around his hind quarters. Great dog for any household.”
We’ve had applicants for him, but we want the best fit for Yogi.

JACK -- READY FOR CHRISTMAS

JACK
Jack came in the first group of the Christmas rescue.  His body score was 2/9, so he was not in good shape.   A year later, he is totally different.
He will be having his first real Christmas this year.   Can you see the excitement in his face?  😉
Each dog came from the shelter with the name Snow and a number.   Jack was Snow 4.
He went to see Santa with his whole family.  Look how confident he is there.  Sitting right on Santa's lap!
He now is a healthy weight, and he is so relaxed that he sleeps on his back.
He is so fluffy now!  He and his best friend, Westley, love to pose for pictures.
Jack loves toys and he is very good at gathering them into a pile.  I wonder if any of the other Snow Pekes love toys, too.   I know Dickens does.
Are you ready for Christmas Jack?  I bet you are!   It's going to be a special one this year.  🎄🎄

A TREE IS FALLING...

Mom said it sounded like a tree was falling-- I hope it's not a Christmas tree.  That would be awful.
The dogs were on my office couch and they were barking at whatever was outside the window.   Piper and Paddington were very concerned about something.
He went to the other window to get a better view.
Paddington joined him.
There was a lot of noise outside.  Cinnamon's eyes get bigger when she is concerned about something.
My neighbor said her dog Freya was also concerned.  They had to close the shades and block the windows.
She still tried to see through.   There were tree people outside her house and they were noisy-- to her at least.  Trees weren't actually falling down.  They were being removed.  Freya couldn't see, but..
my dogs could.
Cinnamon and Paddington decided it wasn't exciting enough to worry about.  Naps are better.
Dickens was the only one left there after a while.  The rest went to get on their ottoman in the family room so they could protect the back yard.  Squirrels were out there-- so much fun.   Get ready guys-- the tree people are coming back today!   Are we going to start this all over again?  🌲🌲

KRIS (EDDIE) OF THE CHRISTMAS RESCUE

Kris came in with the first group of the Christmas rescue on December 23 last year.
His shelter picture was like the rest dogs we took in.  Scared and in need of care.  He had no idea what was happening.
He stayed at the vet for initial care and the beginning of his medical needs.  Tests were done, neuter was done, dental was done.  A lot of his teeth were worn down or missing.   He was 13 pounds but underweight for his body build.  Life began to change.
He went to Lisa's for fostering.  I see a little grin there.
He found friends there.
Brock was one of the West Virginia 6, adopted by his foster mom.  He became a great friend with Kris and a few others.
Lisa fell in love with Kris, too.  His new name is Eddie and he's there to stay.  He will be having a lot of adventures and now he also has a new foster in the family.  "Muffin" was rescued on Thanksgiving Day and Lisa is helping with her, too.
Muffin is learning a new way to live with her friends.
I know Eddie will help her learn her new surrounds.   Eddie, I know you will have a HAPPY FIRST CHRISTMAS.  🎄🎄 2025 was a year of wonderful changes for you.

JOLLY—SANTA?

This is Jolly’s first Christmas. 🎄  “Do I hear Santa??”
Keep watching for him?  I know he’s coming to your house.  Santa knows how special this Christmas will be for you.
While he’s waiting, he will just have sugar plum dreams. 🎅🎄I’m excited for all of the Christmas rescue dogs this year.

LOOKING WAY BACK

I was going through some old pictures.  I have a lot before the days of taking pictures on an iPhone.   I found a blog from 2008.  I didn't realize I had done blogs that long.  This is my Scooterbug.
Cranberry Muffin (white) and Scooterbug loved to explore.
Christmas 2009 had Cranberry, Lottie, Wicket and Scooterbug.  It was fun to find these pictures!
One of my fosters, Mocha, was helping me.
Lots of Pekes.
I began fostering in 2003, this Peke foster was in 2009.  But I can't remember who it was.  My on line files go to 2008.  If you know, please tell me his name.
Cosmo was my first foster dog in 2003.  I found his picture, too.  I loved those curtains when I had them.
Cosmo, Scooterbug and Cranberry.
I still read w a couch full of Pekes.  My hair was dark brown then. :-)
Hugging dogs on the couch is still an everyday thing.
I've had Pekes for so many years, always more than one.  I've loved it.  💜
