FRESIA AND SCOUT

Fresia and Scout got snow where they live.

These pictures are from last year but they could have been this past weekend. Scout didn’t look happy w the snow.
Fresia said it was better inside.
She’s beautiful just like Scout.

Scout had a dental last week. Her mom asked what the record was for losing teeth during the procedure.  I said I thought it was 15- that was Dickens.  Scout lost 11. Peke mouths are so crowded because their teeth are trying to fit into a shorter mouth.  She’s healing nicely and watching the snow from inside.  ❄️๐Ÿ˜

THE SNOW WAS A BUST

The weather said we were going to have a big storm-- 8-12 inches of snow.
Paddington and Piper set up a watch.  They were monitoring the weather.
Dickens wanted to help.
They worked together.
They all cuddled for a nap while the storm made its progress.
I looked out during the night-- it was really windy.  But I didn't see much snow.
When we went outside, no one got stuck.  "Where's all the snow?" asked Dickens.
Well, it just didn't come.   Instead of a lot of snow, we got a small amount, maybe an inch or two.  Just enough to be pretty, but not enough to be dangerous.   It's very cold still, so they all have sweaters.  For now, we'll just stay inside.  ❄❄

BETHANY AND HER FRIENDS

Bethany was one of the Christmas pups.  She came in December 2025 in the first group.
Sunny and Hannah there before Bethany arrived.  All PVPC alumni now.  Bethany is so much smaller.
Hannah (on the bottom) loves to play.  She runs around the yard with Bethany, and it helped Bethany feel safe there. She was very timid when we got her.  Sunny is too old for all that activity, so he watched them.  They look like triplets born in different years.  LOL
Happy Sunday!

EDDIE AND MAPLE

Eddie (Kris of the ๐ŸŽ„rescue) said “It’s icy outside.”
Brock of the West Virginia rescue is Eddie’s brother. Their mom Lisa has helped w a lot of the rescue dogs and she fell in love with these two.
We were asked to take in this one and she made her way to us on Thanksgiving Day.  Lisa had always wanted a female foster and she wanted an albino if one came into rescue.  Lisa named her Maple.  Like Maple Syrup. And maple syrup is sweet.  Maple was too scared to be sweet.  She’s making progress.
She fits right in w the rest.  Fancy (the red one) is also there — she’s a permanent foster due to special needs.
They are all snuggled together inside!   The roads and yards are pure ice.  They might get more snow today.  A big storm is coming in and my area is supposed to get hit.
So if I don’t post, it will be because we lost power. Hope we don’t.  Stayed tuned!  ❄️❄️⛄️

TIME IN THE SNOW

Gomez lives in the North East and it's really cold there.  But look at him go in the snow!
"When can we go outside again?" he says.
Wicket "Wiggie" is all set for his walk.  He and his mom and Luna, his doggy sister, go on a lot of walks.
The snow didn't slow them down.
Ernie belongs to a friend of mine.  He LOVES the snow and going for walks every day is a highlight.   I don't know if more snow is coming this weekend, but I know it will be cold.  So, break out the jackets-- yours and the dogs.  Winter is in full swing here.

MORE SNOW COMING?

Zeke is not crazy about the snow.   Don't tell him another snowstorm might be coming.  He won't like that one bit.
At my daughter's house an hour away, the front yard turned to ice.   The temperatures in our area won't get above freezing.
Simon and his friend are watching to see if snow comes.
Hunter had snow last week-end.  He is fine with wearing jacket.
Jingle on the other hand was not on at all happy about his jacket with a hat on it.   You can do it Jingle. ๐Ÿ””
My dogs will hang out at their usual place on the couch. Can you see 3 dogs. Cinnamon and Paddington blend together.   Dickens is behind me.  They also get on the ottoman where they can see when the weather changes. ❄️❄️
Eddie looks like he’s trying to hide from the weather.  It’s cold out there.

Some areas will probably get a lot of snow.

Granger is ready!  Bring it on.
Cinnamon’s face shows what she thinks about it.  She’s not a fan but she will go out and walk under the deck.
Let me know if you get snow where you are.

WELCOME TO RESCUE BRUCE

Bruce was at the same shelter as Louie.   We got them both the same day, before the weather was supposed to change.
We were told Bruce has a 4/6 heart murmur and the shelter could not do the extensive dental that he needed.  He was a medical intake even though he was not a Peke.
He's estimated at 9-11, but his energy level doesn't match that number-- or he could just be a very active older boy.  He loves walks.  He loves people, he is great with other dogs.  This little boy is awesome.
He was so good for all of his exam, and then he rolled around on the floor.  The vet checked his heart by listening and by an ultrasound.  And guess what-- it's not that bad.   He has a 3/6 heart murmur, but no meds are needed at this point.   We will set up a dental for him.
He asked his foster mom to pick him up.   This boy is SO sweet.
I guess he saw the computer screen, and it had a dog that looked like him!  WOW he said.
Another dog came up.  Bruce was mesmerized.
All done and time to go.  Don't apply for this one.  He has a home waiting.  When we thought he was a very medical dog, someone said she would take him no matter what his condition was.  (And she's adopted before from us so we know she's wonderful.) Well, now she's getting a treasure of a dog.  This boy was easy to fall in love with.  ๐Ÿ’™
