FAREWELL OLLIE

Ollie came to us as a ten year old (we were told, but never know if that's right), who had not been taken care of.    He found a place in Molly's heart very quickly.
Her husband even put "will you marry me" on a dog tag that Ollie was wearing.
Ollie has been having some health issues and today, he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
He was so sweet-- here he was with his brother, Zeke.
He was adored-- you can tell.
Here he was with his foster sister, Blossom.
Ollie had a wonderful life with his mom and dad.   With the older ones, we don't know how long we will have with them, but they are worth every moment.    I'm so glad Ollie had such an incredible 2 1/2 years with his family.  Molly said, "This morning Dan and I kissed and held Ollie as he passed peacefully. Ollie was such a great part of the beginning our lives together as a family. He taught us so much, and we will always look back fondly on the memories of our little white dog. He was truly a blessing. Thank you Potomac Valley Pekingese Club for helping Ollie find love and comfort in our home."
Molly, I know you will miss your boy.   I'm so very sorry.

DYLAN AND LESTER-- HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Dylan came into our rescue when his breeder owner decided he was of no more use.  Sad, but this happens too often.
Dylan is so happy to be in rescue.
He has comfy beds, friends, love and care.
He smiles a lot!   Just look at him.
He has found toys are fun.  Other dogs are fun.  Cats... not so much.    He is just not sure what they are!
He is being fostered with Lester, too.    Lester came out of a shelter where he had no chance because he is older.
But, he is doing great and if you are one of those people like me, who love the seniors, he might be the one for you.
Christmas was wonderful for both these sweet boys.    The New Year will be a happy one for them!

PEKES-- THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT CONTINUES

This is Oscar-- he just had his first adoptaversary. (He was with another rescue.)  He looks adorable!
He was celebrating Christmas and his new home.
Mickey, our alumni, was not too sure about his Santa hat.   But, he continues to grow more secure.   He came from an environment with two other Pekes and he was so timid.   I wish he could tell us his background.  His parents adore him and he is doing so much better.
Mickey's sister, Madeline, was all ready for Christmas!   She has given Mickey a lot of support and friendship.
She had on her peppermint outfit and was ready for Santa!
Jake, also one of our alumni, loved Christmas.
He is mesmerized by the tree and I can see why.  There is just something about Christmas, the lights and the moments of peace we can capture if we are willing to stop for a minute.   Christmas may be over, but the spirit of Christmas continues-- giving, loving and hoping.

PEKES AT CHRISTMAS

Christmas Pekes are still around-- the day  may be over, but Christmas spirit is still here.   Margie's cute group is looking to see if Santa might make one more stop.  (Maybe even a fly-over to drop a few more gifts.)
Tipperary has gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but his mom and dad sent his picture to me.   I had to share.
His parents now own Doolin-- a cute little bundle!  (Or does he own them?)
Friends of mine are with Peke rescue in California-- and this is Peke CEO Timmy.
He is so cute-- he even dressed up as an elf!
Bobby has his festive collar on for the day.   Just adorable!
I think Coltrane slept the day away.   That's what some of mine did.
Diva Pearl-- what can I say.  She is stunning.    She is a professional model and has so many outfits and scenes to be photographed in.   And she is sweet, too!   I have to say, we have beautiful Pekes all around us!
Maggie is Bobby's sister.    Are you making a face at us?    (Maggie was one of my fosters, and I love to be able to follow their lives!)   It's been seven years since she was here!
Max was also one of my fosters-- he's 12 now!   And he is still the sweet boy he always was.
Tucker posed for a Christmas picture with Santa.   I bet Christmas was the best day for him!
And sweet Tyler-- oh my, this one has always stolen my heart.  His mom knows that and always shares pictures with me.  He lives in California now, and his mom does rescue there.   (CEO Timmy helps run the rescue-- his picture is above.)   I'm sure Tyler helps all he can.
I had to post Yodi one more time.   I think he may still be dreaming of Santa-- it was a wonderful Christmas for him with his own home and love.   That's what rescue is about-- helping them to find that.   Seeing all these Pekes in their homes is  just the best present!

CHRISTMAS DOGS!

Raymond had a wonderful Christmas.   He was one of our senior fosters and loves his new home.
Tucker is looking for a treat!
Daisy saw Santa and I'm sure she got everything she wanted.
Abner visited people in the hospital-- he is a therapy dog.
Sometimes, he lays down on the job, just to get ready for the next round!
Mookie was so excited about Christmas this year!
Tai Tai, you are so beautiful on your red Santa rug.
Jammer had his picture painted for his Christmas present-- beautiful!
Chumley and Max on Christmas morning.   There was so much to get into, but they did great.
Floyd just slept through most of it.
Kai Kai and Chumley were hoping for a treat-- but alas, no people food!  (These are my two allergy dogs, so I have to be extra careful.)
Kai Kai was not amused to play a reindeer, but he did not try to take these off.
For us, Christmas is a time of faith and love and hope and believing.
We hope you had a wonderful, blessed Christmas!
