NAN—NOT TODAY!

Nan (Nana) came to rescue two years ago.  Her owner had adopted her from a shelter three years before.  But, she had to move cross country and asked us to find her a home.  We were glad to help!
Amee fostered Nan.  Nan was about 11 and so so sweet.
I knew Nan would never leave Amee’s. 🥰.  Nan even sent me an email to tell me how happy she was.
Nan was diagnosed w leukemia.  The glands in her neck and behind her “knees” are swollen..  Her mom and dad love her so much and will do all they can to keep her comfortable.  Nan is 14-15 now.
Today, Nan is happy and we hope she has a long time with her family.  #NOTTODAY cancer.  #NOTTODAY!

TINA—EIGHT YEARS

How can it be eight years since this precious girl came into rescue?
When she was at the shelter, I was stunned by her condition.   But, we took her into rescue and she was temporarily fostered by my friend, Susan.
Tina's healing began.  Her elephant skin and lack of hair was from fleas and neglect-- but we can fix that!
Through it all, she was SO SWEET.   Look at her face, part way through treatment.  I'm falling in love all over again.
It was  hard to tell her age, but we thought she was 2-3 years old.   Her hair began to come in, and she loved toys!
Her foster moms decided they would keep her-- she brought such life into her home.  She was JOY!!  Pure Joy!
Tina is older now-- but her exuberance is still there.
I know she wasn't a Pekingese but I'm so glad she came into rescue for help.
She was at the vet this week for her yearly check up and she got a perfect report.  And she loved everyone while she was there.   Tina, happy and perfect!  💜

LEX AND DALLAS—HAPPY HOME

DALLAS AND LEX

Lex and Dallas came into rescue in September when their owner could no longer care for them.
It took a while for them to be adopted but we wanted them to stay together.  A perfect home did come along! ❤️❤️)
They love their new mom and dad.  If they’re outside, the boys keep a good eye on them.
Dallas loves to hoard toys. And there are plenty of toys!!
Are you comfy? 🥰
Dallas and Lex are so happy in their home.   We could not have found a better place for them.
They love their yard.  I’m sure they are great helpers.
Such beautiful boys. RESCUE! ❤️❤️

PENELOPE “BABY” AND TRAVIS

Penelope was nicknamed Baby and it stuck.
She was shaved down when she came into rescue but her hair is growing in.  Her foster mom brushes it- not to get out tangles but to just get used to what brushing is.
I showed this picture before and Travis’ (with beautiful Ginny) is doing so much better.
Baby is visiting w her twins, Joey and Zoey.  They are in a foster home that’s close. She may stay there to be w her kids until they are adopted.
The twins have dentals soon and we are trying to get Baby’s done too.  Things take longer post-Covid but we’re working on it.
Baby’s hair will have beautiful highlights in it.
Travis isn’t leaving her foster home.  He’s supposed to be 16 but he sure doesn’t seem that age.  He’s going to spend the rest of his life there.  Sweet lucky boy. ❤️

HAPPY SUNDAY FROM GRANGER

Granger likes to get into paper bags, boxes, small “houses” of any kind.  But now that the inside plants are back outside, they make a great hiding place.  We can still see you Granger.  But you can pretend we can’t.  ❤️

HAPPY SUNDAY!

FAREWELL CJ

CJ joined his family in 2008-- at 2 months old.
He had joined Chief-- and that's why he was named CJ-- Chief Junior.
He had other friends, too.   Cooper and Lu and Maxx.   They are part of a Pekingese loving family.
CJ was a cuddler.  His favorite place was on the couch with his dad.
Friends were fine, but his mom and dad were his favorite to cuddle with.
CJ had a stroke three years gao.   But, he kept his feistiness and his personality.
He was a good sport-- except about food.  It had better NOT be late!   He must have known how to tell time.
CJ had a  mass on his kidney and the pain became too much to treat.   He let his mom and dad know.   But, even when you know you're doing the right thing, it's so difficult.   The heart misses them.  You look for them in the room.  You think you catch glimpses of them at times.   CJ was his mom's heart and soul.   15 years was just not long enough.   His mom said a cuddle with him could just make her whole day.   Most of us understand that.    He met his buddies, Captain, Chief and Maxx when he left.  And I'm sure there were others that welcomed him to the Rainbow Bridge.   Run free now, sweet boy.
 You were so loved.  💙

FAREWELL MOXIE JANE

Moxie Jane came into rescue over three years ago.  She was 12, and she couldn't walk well.
She was joyful.
She loved toys.
As she exercised, her legs became stronger.   She would run around the yard.
She had buddies.  Rocco (PVPC alumni) and Gracie were her best friends.
From the moment I received an email asking for help, I thought Moxie was precious.
There was something about her that I just loved.
I never met her in person.   But, her joy was contagious.
In March, she began to use a wheelchair, as her legs began to lose their strength.
She rested more-- but they all do this as they get older.
Oh-- her face.  💗
Her little outfits were precious.
She had a stroller, too, for walks that were a little long for her.
Her body was tired even though her spirit wasn't.   Saying good-bye is never easy.   It's just plain hard.
Her mom said, " Moxie Jane, you stole my heart the day I met you and now as I say goodbye it’s broken. You were only with us for a short time, but every day was a gift. Your spirit is amazing and I’m so sorry your body just gave out. Run free little one."   Run meet your friends.  They were all waiting for you.  💜
