CHESTNUT UPDATE

Chestnut came into rescue last month.   His foster mom said he is a gentle soul and loves to cuddle.
He was confused and a little scared when we got him.
His foster mom said, "He is super polite while he waits for me to chop his food. He scarfs his food so I’ve started giving him his food in a shallow slow feed bowl, which has helped a bit. I’ve given him some kibble and freeze-dried food as treats and he seems to enjoy them so I’d like to transition him to kibble & freeze dried since those are more compatible with slow feeders, snuffle mats, and licky mats to keeping him from gobbling down his food."
Chestnut enjoys gentle brushing.  He had some mats when we got him, but he is getting rid of those.
He is curious about change things, but given time, he does fine.    He may have had stress in his previous life, but he is coming along great.  He is housetrained, too.
Chestnut is learning that he is loved and cared for.   If you are interested in adopting Chestnut, fill out the application.  We adopt in Maryland and Virginia for the most part.
