FIZZIWIG AKA TOBY

Gabriel/Ludo and Gabriel/Toby are officially adopted.   Ludo’s took a little longer  because of extra tests he needed. They are both doing great.  

Olivia/Callie (PVPC alumni) loves her new home and loves her pink blankets. 

Ludo is healed from his surgery and enjoying a nap w Davey Jones.  It’s a busy, happy home.  And 3 of our alumni live there.  We love it!  
 

JACK-DISHTOWEL GANG

Jack (adoption pending) and his brother Westley saw the blog on the “Dishtowel Gang.”

Belle and Oliver began this club. I’m sure there are more of you out there.   (Share pics w names😁)

Jack is doing his best pose to become an official member of the Dishtowel Gang.   I think he’s doing a great job.  

His brother Wesley couldn’t be left out. He had to join, too.  🥰. Great poses boys! 

BERKELEY AND FRIENDS

Berkeley is a little Peke-Chi.  We rescued him from a Richmond, VA shelter when they asked for help.  

Jellybean and Snickerdoodle are there, too.  These two sisters from the Christmas rescue.  They would love to stay together.  They both need a friend for security.  

Holly is also from the Christmas rescue.  She wants a friend, too, if she can.  

Berkeley has a Chi nose, but his eyes are all Peke.  

Berkeley can be bossy.  He will horn in to be on his foster mom's lap.  He wants all the attention.  He would love to be an only dog.   

Once he gets to know you, he is so loving.   

He's a wonderful boy.

STORMY DAY

It was a stormy day yesterday.  There were all kinds of warnings about high wind and rain. 

Everything was cancelled. We’re not going anywhere.  I’m sitting and rocking Dickens and just relaxing.  I don’t get much time to do that.  So I’m taking advantage of having my schedule cleared.  

Piper decided it was his turn,  so Dickens totally relaxed on the couch. 😁

Piper said “the winds are responsible for this!” 

Callie took a spot on the couch w Cinnamon at the other end. 

Mistletoe decided to just climb in the bed under the rocker. 

We just read and relaxed last night.  No vet reports, no going out, and having soup and salad for dinner.   We all needed a slow down. 

BELLE AND OLIVER - PENDING ADOPTION

Belle and Oliver were two of the last ones to come in from Christmas rescue.  

They have a pending adoption.  Together! 

They met Leia “LiLi” from the Maryland 5 rescue.  This is her forever home. 

LiLi loves to hang over the back of the couch.  So do Belle and Oliver.  Their mom calls them “the dish towel gang.”  🥰

Lulu and Dolly are Belle and Oliver’s new sisters. Aren’t they cute!

DICKENS UPDATE

DICKENS

Dickens came into rescue the end of December. 

When I first saw him, there was a sweetness in his eyes that drew me in.  Was it hope? 

He is second from the left here. (Winter on the left, then Mistletoe, then Fizziwig. I could feel all his bones. 

He came to my home for fostering.  He didn’t wag his tail, he was lethargic and very thin.  He’s been very slow gaining weight.  I’m doing a lot of research on these dogs. Malnutrition can affect the digestive system’s  ability to absorb nutrients.  It can take months to heal.  Months! He has significant muscle loss.  That might not get better. Malnutrition can also affect the bones and can lead to arthritis.  Dickens has these issues, too. 

BUT.. Dickens wags his tail now.  A lot!  He has gained a little weight. Even though he has been getting extra meals, he still has a way to go.  It’s okay.  We have all the time he needs. 

Dickens is a joy to have here. 🥰

WINTER ADOPTED

Winter was in the second group in the Christmas rescue. 

She is on the lower right.  So thin and her hair was shaved all the way down (too matted to save).  

Gabby is a beautiful Peke who needed a friend. She came four hours to meet Winter and Holly and Noelle and Mistletoe.  

How could Gabby choose from so many beautiful Pekes. 

It was such a hard decision.  There was no wrong choice. They all were special. 

Winter sat on my coffee table while Gabby was deciding. 

Gabby chose Winter.   💕

Winter went to her new home.   She will be cherished for life.  Welcome home Winter. 💖

PEKINGESE VISITORS

We had visitors yesterday.  Holly came down from Richmond w Lisa, her foster mom. Noelle, Winter, Noelle, Mistletoe and Dickens were the other fosters who were here.  It was fun!

We had Dickens (by the walkway) outside w us.  That’s Piper, Holly and Mistletoe jumping. 

It was a lot of dogs here but they all did so well.  Dickens and Callie took a break on the couch. 

Holly joined Piper on the ottoman.  She could be Mistletoe’s twin.  

One was adopted yesterday.  I’ll announce that in tomorrow’s blog. 😍 Who do you think it was.  
 

THE PINK GIRLS

Some of the dogs are wearing sweaters.   Mistletoe is one of them. 

Mistletoe (top) and Cinnamon both have pink sweaters on. The seem to be together a lot on the couch. So I began calling them The Pink Girls. 

Sometimes they are w Paddington and Piper on the ottoman. 

Cinnamon sometimes will curl up w Dickens.  He likes that. 

But it’s usually Cinnamon and Mistletoe. 

I think they’re ready for a nap. Wait for it….

Cinnamon is already out. Mistletoe isn’t far behind. 💤💤
