FAREWELL WILLY

Willy came to rescue from a shelter near Richmond, VA
He couldn't see well because of glaucoma, and had to have that eye removed.  He was also very nutritionally deficient. Sherry had to syringe feed him to get food into him.
He was dressed up for Halloween-- and he loved attention.
He began to do better and he began to eat on his own.  A shopping trip was in order.
He relaxed and knew he was safe and loved.
He was so loved that Sherry adopted him.  He was home!
Willy was just smiling.
He foster mom wrote this early in his care, " I've fostered sweet dogs over the years but Willy is THE sweetest dog ever. We set up a large bed in the corner of the living room which has become his place. He wallows around on the pillows and burrows under the blankets and will sleep for hours. I am so grateful to be fostering him and watching him evolve as he becomes more comfortable and secure here. We love him!!"
Willy had two years with Sherry and her niece, Jennifer.  Two years of love and happiness and total care.
He couldn't see, but he knew how to get around.
He began to decline, he was getting older.
He slept more, but he knew he was still loved immensely.
Sometimes, we have them a shorter time when we get them as older dogs.  But, the time is so precious.  Sherry adores the seniors and wants to give them the best years she can.  Willy had that.  💓  Run free now, Willy.

Linda, this is Jenn whom co-owned Willy Wonka. I first wanted to thank you for trusting me to be a part of this amazing rescue. I fell in love with sweet Willy right away and called him my soul man. I will miss and love him forever. Thank you so much for this wonderful farewell. Love to all of you and thank you to everyone for all you do.
