TIME TO PAMPER DICKENS

Dickens has done so well this past year.  He learned to walk again, gained weight, grew hair.  

Yesterday, he woke up and he couldn't walk.   He tried, but his back end just fell side to side.   So, I messaged my wonderful vet.  She fit us right in.  She examined him and saw that he had a lot going on.  He was shaking in pain, so they did three xrays.  The results weren't what I wanted to hear.  He has compressed vertebra several places on his spine and neck.  He had arthritis in shoulders and hips.  His whole left side is weak.  He has bad knees.   Dr. M gave him a pain shot and another shot.  He has two medications to take at least twice a day.   She also did a laser treatment on his back, and I'll go back to 1-2 times daily with his red light therapy.  I had stopped doing it every day because he was doing so well.   

When we got home, all the dogs had to make sure he was okay.  He was groggy from the pain shot.  

I crushed his medications in his food, I added chicken.  But, so far, he won't eat.    (PS- he ate some this morning.)

He needs at least two weeks of rest and then go back to see Dr. M.  

For now, he will be babied (he always was, but now it will be more).  I hope he shows improvement soon.  He was so good at the vet, they all love him there.
