BEACH BIT-- BUSY

 You all know I take care  of Beach Bit, my grandson.  He is two years  old now and BUSY.    I take my hat off to moms of boys.    Wow.  

 He loves playgrounds, and tricycles, and dogs, and trains, and airplanes, and helicopters...... everything!    And he keeps me busy.

I'm tired at the end of the day-- my daughter sent me this, and it's so true!!    So, if you email me and don't get a response, it's probably because my brain is in "mush mode" and my eyes have a glazed look in them.    I'll eventually get back to you-- just not as fast. :-)

DUBLIN UPDATE

Dublin is doing so well.     His foster mom says he is a little muffin face.    He still has some pelvic weakness and a bit unsteady, but he's making great progress.    He will continue improving over the next few months.

His lifelong exercise restrictions will be to keep him off furniture, avoid steps and be walked with a harness.    He should not be encouraged to jump up on furniture or wrestle with other dogs.   He needs to keep his four paws on the ground.    Here are Leo and Phoebe keeping him company as he is in his xpen.    He'll be out of there soon.    Dublin is about a year old.   If you are interested in this sweet boy, just let us know.  

FESTUS

 Here is Festus.   The vet and staff thought it was a perfect name for this sweet boy-- sounds right out of Gunsmoke to me!

 He was in a shelter and had been there awhile.  They asked Jeanne to take him since he hadn't been adopted.   She hesitated at first but when she saw him, there was no doubt he was going home with her.

He is a happy go lucky guy.    He is very sweet, playful and learns quickly.    (Wait, is there something over there?)

 Festus gets along great with other dogs.    He got a "puppy" cut to clean him up and it looks great on him.     (I can tell he is looking to exit the exam room.) 

 Festus is eleven years old and 13 pounds.   He doesn't look 11 to me.   Maybe 11 is the new 8 (like people having "new" ages).   

 Festus enjoy interaction and I can tell he's looking for an adventure here.

 He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and he is always smiling and excited for any activity.   He is very easy to have around and a great famiily member.     (Is there something over there I need to check out?)

He is so deserving of a family of his owner.   What a sweetheart!   (And ready to go get his new family!)   If you are intersted in him, email us or fill out an application on line.

SNEAKY WU

 Sneaky Wu (formerly Bandit/Deanie) has been in his new home for several months and he is doing great.    Look at this beautiful boy.

 At the shelter, he was a bit insecure-- his owners had turned him in and I'm sure he was wondering why.

 But, his joy became apparent in his foster home and he loved to play.

Now, he spends his days with a very loving owner who is very devoted to this sweet boy.      What a life he has now!

ADORABLE CHIP

Look at this adorable face.   I got him out of a shelter near me.   Chip is nine years old and a total sweetheart.

 Here he is with Mick, his foster brother.   Chip is a special needs dog because he has a heart issue.   You wouldn't know it because he is active and loving.  

 He comes when he is called (most of the time) and responds to a whistle.   He is totally housetrained, going out when he needs to go to the bathroom.  

 Look at what a stunning boy he is.    (Can you tell I just love this dog!?)  He's a real snuggler,will jump on the couch or bed for his share of attention.    He's not pushy though and willing to share his people with the other dogs there.  

He has to sleep in the bedroom with you on his bed.    He is not a loner and wants no part of sleeping off by himself.     He just wants to be with you, and is a loving affectionate boy.    If you would love to have him join your family, just let us know.

BRISCOE

Here is sweet Briscoe.    We saved him from a Maryland shelter.   He is older in body, but not in spirit.    Some dogs do look older because of gray in the face, but we think he's about 9 years old.    (We always have to guess at "strays.")

His foster mom, Sharon, says this is one wonderful boy!     He is easy going and adaptable.    He walked into her home and became part of the family routine like he had always been there.   He is housetrained and doesn't have any interest in chewing valuable items.  That's always a good thing.

He loves to ride in the car and her likes to take walks.     He has a great energy level (leading us to think he's not an "old" boy).   He will race him foster mom up the stairs after his walks.   

He loves cats!  They are just his size.   So, if his future forever home has a cat, that's just fine with him! 

He is also content to just hang out.    Just give him a comfy chair and he's good to go.

He loves to snuggle up and sit in your lap or beside you.    He is happiest when his people are near by.   He is friendly to adults and children and will accept tummy rubs from anyone.    

He had bad care before we got him, leading to a dental that left only one tooth.    So, he eats soft food and has a great appetite.    Everyone who meets him comments on how sweet he is, even the vet who was giving him an exam.    He's just one nice boy!   If you are interested in Briscoe, just let  us know.   potomacpekes@gmail.com or haveninhim@aol.com
