Jesse is one of our foster dogs who is with our Roanoke vet, Lucinda and Roger.
He came to us heartworm positive, and is older, but oh, so sweet.
He even posed for Christmas pictures. I love his hat!
I don't know what kind of life he had before, but he wasn't cared for-- he is now! Once his heartworm treatment is over, he'll be ready for a home. He loves toys, drags them all out, and is not aggressive at all!
Little Madge is beautiful in her Christmas photo. She is also heartworm positive, but cannot be treated as she is in heart failure. She is happy and being given all the love and care possible. She will have all she needs. She loves to everyone to make a fuss over her!
Puji is a sweetheart and he had a wonderful holiday. He had to be hand fed for 2 months after we got him. He was very unstable. He is a sweet boy though, and loves his life now. He loves to wear his sweaters!
And this is his favorite pose-- sweater on, snoozing. I think I'd like to do that, too! We really need foster homes in the Roanoke area to help our vet there. If you are in that area, and would like to help, please let us know.
Must Love Pekes is a blog for those who love Pekingese -- their looks, their antics, their personalities. It is written by me, Linda, and I have been rescuing Pekingese for over 22 years. Lots of them have come through our home. We have loved them all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATT!
I want to wish my husband a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We have been married almost 28 years and he is an incredible person. He is the kindest man I've ever known, and I'm so blessed that he chose me to spend his life with. I love you!

AMELIA AND MAGNOLIA
Magnolia was adopted from us (her name was Stella). This is a tasty flamingo that Amelia's foster mom sent to her. Magnolia likes it just fine-- it must taste good since she's licking her mouth. YUM!
Amelia was too sleepy to care if Magnolia had her toy. Her face just makes me want to kiss her! She was adopted in 2010.
They both curled up on their mom's comforter, but she had to take the cover off to wash it-- yes, I understand. I do a lot of "dog laundry" here.
They used it anyway and were quite insulted when it was time to put the cover back on and they had to get up! OH, the indignation!

BLOG PROBLEMS
If a blog does not show up, it's because I'm having trouble with loading pictures right now. I'm trying to figure it out, but it's a blog thing. Hope it works soon! I have some great pictures to show you. :-)
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM SOME ADOPTED PEKES
"Henry" Teddy Bear wishes all the foster Pekes a Happy New Year and hopes they all find homes this year.
Here's Ginny Lee in her Christmas present-- a brand new bed! Her mom said she's never seen a dog love a bed that much-- jumping in it, sniffing, pawing, snorting, circling, and chewing, then snuggling right in. She is a HAPPY dog!!
Lacey Nicole was ready to bring in the New Year on her red blanket.
Toni Davis sent this picture of hers with Macaroon in the middle-- he's her foster dog. What a cute group. That's Chester with his ears up. He's the blind dog she adopted from us. She adores him!! Macaroon is a special needs boy and I'll do a blog on just him.
Here are Max and Tyler, the two elderly gents who were adopted from us. They were much younger, but after their family moved to California, they began to rescue little ones there. Lisa said these two boys have "graced my home with their darlingness for nearly 10 years."
This is Bracketts who was adopted a few years ago.
And sweet Damsel was rescued from a shelter and now lives her new life in N.Va. where she is loved.
This is Cosmo-- he was my FIRST foster dog almost ten years ago.
He is such a sweet boy and he shares his home with.....

Winston. Winston wasn't adopted from us, but I wanted to put him on also with his brother. They are both so loved. We want this for all our foster dogs-- a life of love and care. It will be a Happy New Year indeed!

PIPER--A DAY IN THE LIFE
Piper is my sweet foster boy. Some company came over and he is so shy, he hid under the ottoman. (You know I had to lay on the floor to get this shot!)
Come out little man, you're okay.
This is one of the nicest dogs I've fostered. He slowly came out...
And then made a full appearance. He will be good in a home that will cherish him, and be around during the day. He loves to run in the yard, too.
Here he is outside-- with a toy! He loves toys-- and this one makes duck sounds.
But, a stick will do fine also.
Or maybe I'll play on Beach Bit's slide. This looks fun.
Can I climb up on it?
Mom, can you help?
Is there another way up?
Gosh, this thing is slippery.

Come on and help me. I see Beach Bit on this and he seems to love it-- I just want to give it a try!

BEAU-BEAU AND LOLLI-POP
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I wanted to begin the year with telling you about a new adoption. YIPEE!! I hope 2013 is a wonderful year for us all.
Beau-Beau and Lolli-pop came to me from a local shelter last year. They were here awhile and then went to Kay and Claretta for fostering. They did not want to be foster-failures, because they wanted to keep on giving and fostering. But, for some reason, Beau and "Pop" (as they call her) were just not getting applications. As I've said before, I don't get it. Some are chosen quickly, some are not.
I met Kay and Claretta in Emporia, Va for the ride to their foster home.
These two were very attached, Beau being the more needy of the two. Lolli-pop would play with Beau or anyone else-- or on her own if no one was interested.
Kay and Claretta emailed me and said they love these two to pieces and the dogs love being part of their home. These two little ones have become part of the home and they are going to stay. Beau is their shadow and Lolli-pop has a lot of health issues and they are committed to taking care of them. I'm so glad they kept them-- I will never worry about them. They are so loved there and I'm blessed to know this wonderful family!
