MAX THE TRESPASSER

Can you see the mesh fence there?    We had to put down compost all over part of the back yard and seed it.  We put a mesh fence around it and the dogs have to use the lower yard.  But, Max was sure he needed to still use the upper yard.  He found a way in and has to be rescued on a regular basis.   He just grins until I see him there and lift part of the mesh so he can come through.    Habits are hard to break, I guess, or he just likes the upper yard.  

JAX

 Jax was found in Maryland.    His finder tried to find his owners, but none claimed him.    One of our members asked if we could post him so that he could find a home.    Of course!    I think this pose if too funny-- did you do that on purpose?

Here he is with a Peke friend. He was there a few days before he went to his foster home in Baltimore.

 He enjoys vegging outside with his foster mom.  He's a pretty laid back dog.   He is about 15 pounds and we are guessing he is 2 years old. 

 He's also content to hang out inside.     He's not a full Peke, but he is really pretty.  Look at his eyes.   

 And this is Dino-- Jax's cat friend.    Jax does fine with him.

 And who says he can't "ruffff." :-)  Hello back to you, Jax!

Jax is a happy boy, and loves his toys.   The blue whistle stuffed toy is his favorite!   If you would like this boy to join your family, just let us know!

LACEY NICOLE

Lacey  is doing so much better in her foster home.   She has some "Pekeatude" but she has improved a lot.   She has been having seizures, so we are having a test done on Monday to rule out other issues and then she'll begin phenobarbital.   I have three dogs on seizure medication and they are doing great.   Pekingese and seizures are not uncommon and easy to control.    I know Lacey will be fine and ready for her forever home soon.

MORE TAYLOR!

 Here's Taylor again.     Wake up little one!   We want to see you.

 His stitches are out from his nasal fold surgery (the big folds under the eyes) and he just needs his hair to grow back in.  

 His foster mom says he is the sweetest dog in the whole world!   Her son calls him "little sweetie" because he is such a friendly and cuddly little guy.

 Oh, my, you are tired!     Look at that yawn!

 He has become his foster mom's shadow.   He watches her every move.

 He wants to be where you are and doesn't want to be left alone.   He loves to sit by his foster mom while she works.   He also enjoys being in the yard when they are out there-- he will chase the bugs on the patio and play with the children in the neighborhood.   He also gets along with all the dogs he has met.  

 His favorite thing to do is play with Cricket, his foster family's dog.   I think this little one will need a friend in his new home.    Taylor and Cricket will chase each other around the room for hours, taking 10 minute breaks to just lay down.   

This is one lovely boy and he is waiting for that perfect home for him where he can be loved for the rest of his life.     A doggy friend would make it even better!!

TAYLOR

 This is Taylor after his nasal (eye) fold surgery.    He had pretty large folds!  

 Just look how flat his little face is.   He's so cute!   He will be three in November, so he's a young one.  

 Look at those folds!  Whoa!    Taylor was an owner turn in because he had fleas-- really?  Fleas?   (When he left, the fleas were still there!)  

 Don't let this sad face fool you-- Taylor is a very happy dog who enjoys playing with other dogs.    He was under 11 pounds when he came into rescue, but he's gaining some needed weight.  He won't be big, but 12-13 pound would be a good weight for him.

He got to ride on Bitty Bit's lap on the way to Richmond.  She was so excited!

 This was after his eye/nasal fold surgery, but he's all healed now.  When I get new pictures, I'll be sure to post them.   

He was given a short cut, but it's growing out for the winter.     This sweet boy is waiting for his forever home!   Check out some new pictures of him tomorrow!

TOBY THE PUPPY

 Odin is Toby the puppy's foster brother.  Odin was a foster himself and now he has the big brother role.   Puppies can be very rambunctious!

Toby is no exception-- he think Odin's tail is a toy.    Toby thinks other things are toys, too-- like his food dish.   He will drag it and bash it around when he is hungry (he still eats at least 3 times a day).    He is about 6 months now and will be neutered soon.    Then, he'll be ready for a new home.    I'm sure it won't take long.

BINGO

Bingo was in a shelter and had no chance of being adopted.   A voluteer for another group saw him and emailed me.    He was terrified there, and was huddled in the corner of the kennel.   But, he crawled forward to timidly lick the fingers of the volunteer.    How could I say no to that!

Here he is after he got out of the shelter-- all smiles and love. He weighs just under 15 pounds and is probably about ten--we're guessing. He has skin that needs help, but we can fix that. He is loving, and making himself right at home with his foster mom.

Bingo is a wonderful Peke, and he wants his own forever home.   He can run up the steps with no problem and enjoys a nice walk, where he just trots along beside you.     If you would like to give this older boy a home to live his life, just let us know.    Seniors need a chance, and they may not have as many years to give you, but they sure have enough love.    Do you have room to love him?       Welcome to rescue, Bingo!!   Thank you, Diana, for rescuing him!
