HANNAH-BERRY AND SNUFFY

Hannah-Berry is so relaxed.  She is in her new home and doing great.
When I got her, she would not lay on her back, but the days passed and she felt safe and would snuggle in close on her back.
She was adopted with Snuffy and they are now siblings w PVPC alumni Sunny.  They will be so loved ❤️  More updates will come.

THE MEETING--CELEBRATE!

Mizmo was the navigator as we went to the meeting on Saturday.   He is so good in the car.
It was my birthday and the club gave me a Wonder Woman ornament-- I love it!!  Sometimes, in life, we have to step up and be Wonder Woman.   It's a season where I am being called to do more, but one step at a time, one day at a time, I will move forward.  My friends' encouragement and love means so much!
We had cheesecake!!   From the Cheesecake Factory-- thank you!!   MMMMM
We drove home after the meeting and I could see God's wonder all around us.   I saw it as we crossed the Hampton Roads tunnel, by the Navy base-- the clouds and sunlight in the distance.
Incredible family.  Incredible friends.  Love my rescue group.  What a great birthday!!! Today, my family will all go out to dinner.   More birthday celebration!!

MY BIRTHDAY :-)

Today, I am 70.  How did that happen?   Wait, I know.   Years and years of blessings.
I have two incredible daughters, who have such servant hearts.  They have been great blessings to me.   My husband and I have been married a long time-- he is my best friend, the kindest person I know.  I have six grandchildren (one lives near Russia, our "adopted" grandchild).   Three are an hour away, and two are across the street.   Our house has dogs and kids and love abounding.
My life has had tragedy, it has had great joy-- but it has been a life!! And I'm so blessed.   So, 70 is just fine with me-- bring on more!!  💜❤️

Thank you to everyone who made donations to our rescue for my birthday!!

WELCOME TO RESCUE, GIZMO VB

Gizmo (we may change his name LOL-- how many Gizmos can we have!) belonged to a person who was notified that he had been found.   But, he didn't come get his boy.
So, we said we would help.   He was at a shelter in my area and they knew he had bladder stones, so yesterday, before we got him, they did surgery to remove them (and neuter him, too).   He did great.
He is sleeping off the meds, and will take time to heal.    He IS an old boy, but sweet and happy.   If we can't find him a home, he'll remain in our care.  He will be safe and loved.  Thank you, Toni, for stepping up to foster him.
From the shelter, to a home.  Safe!  Welcome, sweet boy.

SNUFFY

Hannah-Berry and I went to see Snuffy and his friends the other day.  She was SO excited!
Snuffy came from a shelter near me-- his owner turned him in with his friend (who has been adopted).
Snuffy is totally okay with other dogs-- laid back and easy going.
He just goes with the flow.
"Easy going?  I'm easy going!  I just want to get up close and personal and play with other dogs."  😆
He didn't know what his future would be when he came out of the shelter, but he wasn't worried.
But, I know his future.  He is going to his new home on Monday and the rest of his life will be wonderful!!!

SUNNY COMES TO VISIT

Sunny came into rescue (he was Snookie, but it just didn't fit) four years ago.    He had lived on a junk filled back porch and was terrified.  His owners called to have animal control come to pick him up and euthanize him.   He was two years old!   We took him into our rescue and he was adopted into a wonderful family.
He came to visit yesterday-- and Snuffy and Hannah met him.
Snuffy was so happy!   He is just about perfect.
Hannah was ALL ABOUT having someone new here.
She sat in front of the fan to entertain herself-- and all of us.  LOL
Turn this way, turn that way....
Snuffy just wanted to get attention.
Oh, Hannah-- you love the fan!
Sunny was nervous-- he wasn't used to me, or my dogs or my house.  He did get to meet Minnie, who he thought was beautiful.  He met Chumley who was so good.  He didn't meet Mizmo or Paddington.  😀😅
We wanted to see if Sunny would like a new friend, so he visited for awhile.   He was nervous, but he calmed down and even though he had to "correct Hannah" for being in his face, he did well.
He is a beautiful little man.  He found a future through rescue and just look at him now.  Loved!!  Home!  Safe!   I'm glad I got to meet you!!  (And just maybe he will be getting a new friend!!)

CHUMLEY—FIVE YEARS.

Chumley came to us five years ago from a local shelter.
He was found as a stray and was so sweet.
But, his skin was awful.
He was missing hair, had inflamed skin, and needed help.
He came to our house and it didn't take long for one of our grand Bits to fall in love with him-- so he stayed.  And he has celebrated five Christmases with us so far.
He has been so good with all the foster dogs who have come through-- "Another one?!"
He has had bouts with HGE, a very serious digestive issue, and he spent time in the vet three times, but he came through and has done fine for the last year.
We don't know his age, but we think he was about 9 when he came to us.  He is the happiest boy and loves everyone.   Happy Five-Year-Aversary Chumley!!!
