Chik T'sun 1960

This is a blog you need to read from the bottom up. I've received more pictures of this beautiful boy. He was only 9 1/2 pounds. In the last picture, he seems huge! I also received this picture. The last picture must have been taken at a very strange angle! This isn't a big dog.This is one big Pekingese. He was Chik T'sun of Caversham, Australia. He was best in show at Westminster in 1960. I tried to find more information on him (like his weight). He was owned by Mr & Mrs C C Venable. I can see he was beautiful!

KIPPER AND BRUMBY

Kipper was rescued by our vet in Roanoke. He was brought in as a puppy with distemper and she kept him after she took care of him. The owners turned him over to her.He has a Cocker Spaniel buddy named Brumby. Brumby showed up at their farm fourteen years ago, and Roger said they couldn't NOT feed him. And he stayed. He is still a wild boy. He chewed up a large piece of concrete fountain in their backyard when he was younger.And he will still shred things if he is left unattended. This week, he ate the plastic handle off an umbrella while riding to work. (The dogs usually go to work with their mom and dad and hang out at the vet in the offices.) He is deaf now and still loves to go for swims. Kipper is a Chikingese. :-) He is a ham and loves to pose for pictures just like Dollar (who will be on tomorrow's blog). This is the last set of St. Patrick's Day pictures-- I had to put them all on to share. They are just too cute! Thanks Lucinda and Roger!

TALOOLA

Taloola's mom sent us this picture of her. She adopted her 2 1/2 years ago. She's adorable!

PEACHES

I had the pleasure of helping this tiny girl. Her name is Peaches. She was in a shelter for two months. Her chances of being adopted were getting smaller and smaller. She is about 6 years old and very sweet.I checked around. I could get her if I had a place for her to go. She's a Peke-Shih-Tzu mix. I wanted to help her.As things sometimes happen, a previous adopted emailed me the same day saying she wanted to add a dog to her family. SO, I sent her a picture of Peaches.She said yes! I took Peaches to the vet and she was so good. But, she was only 8.5 pounds!! Way too thin. She needs to be at least ten pounds. That doesn't sound like a lot, but a few pounds on a small dog IS a lot.I took Peaches to her new home. She loves her new doggy sister, Samantha. She loves playing with the monkey toy and burying her face in it.She loves her new mom and dad and most of all, she loves to sleep in bed with them at night. I love being part of a "door to door" rescue. It sometimes happens and it's wonderful!!

HANNAH JOE

Jeanne's sweet girl, Hannah Joe, has been having an eye problem for a few days. She saw the vet this morning, and it's serious enough that he is going to sedate her tomorrow so he can see what is going on. Please lift up little Hannah. She came to Jeanne and Bill as a feral dog who trusted no one, but she knows she can trust them now. She is only about 5 years old. We'll let you know how she does tomorrow.

YARD STICK AGAIN

Remember I told you to use a yard stick to get under the refrigerator to clean out the hair? Well, I just did it under my dishwasher. Disgusting! I pulled out peas (thank you to Beach Bit who throws his food), toast (ditto on Beach Bit), and dog hair. If you just have one dog, you might not have a problem, but with multiple dogs, you're going to have hair under appliances, and it can sure make them less efficient. So, get out your yard stick and start cleaning! :-) P.S.. You don't have to send me pics-- I'll take your word for what you find.
