GWENNIE SEES THE VET

Gwennie has had digestive issues since she came. Her bloodwork is good. X-rays showed nothing.
So yesterday, she had an ultrasound. I thought it would show nothing.  But it did.  She had no breakfast and her stomach should have been empty. It wasn’t.  She wasn’t processing her food at a normal rate.  The ultrasound  showed inflamation in her intestines and the walls are thicker than they should be.  She needed special medicines to help.  We began them yesterday.
She continued to have some ear infection and received a second medication. She also had some inflamation around her eyes. We are also treating that. We don’t know her past. We don’t know if she received good care and nutrition in her life before rescue.
She likes her new food. It will help her heal.
She still likes me to sit by her and hand her the food.  We do indulge her.
It will take some time, but I think she will heal fully.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to spoil her, and let her choose all the toys she wants. She has tried to take Dickens’ special toy.  He loves that toy. So Gwennie can have any toy but that one. 😂.   I’ll keep you updated on how she does. 🌸
