Looking for Santa

This is such a cute video-- of course, as a rescue person, I'm thinking, "why is that dog out in the cold!" haha http://ak.imgag.com/imgag/product/preview/flash/pdShell.swf?ihost=http://ak.imgag.com/imgag&brandldrPath=/product/full/el/&cardNum=/product/full/ap/3173936/graphic1

LOOKING FOR ANNA, I MEAN SANTA!
Do you see this sweet little thing? It's Anna, my foster dog. She is incredibly sweet, housetrained, and loving. She also scared me to death a few nights ago. I could NOT find Anna that evening. I looked all over the house, looked in every bed, went upstairs, she wasn't in any of the beds upstairs. I put on my coat-- I didn't think she was out, but with my brain on Christmas and Peke warp speed, I wasn't sure. She wasn't out there. So, back inside, yelling for her. Matt, my husband, came home, I said, "FIND ANNA!" We were both calling, and I went to the stairs again to our bedroom, and there she is! I have no idea where she was. She must have gotten under the bed. She was acting like, "what are you yelling for?!" Actually, I think she must have been looking for Santa! :-) She looked under beds, on the beds, in the bedrooms, in the kitchen....
She was outside later, and I think she was looking for him then, too. She wanted to give him her Christmas list.
Starlight was looking for Santa, too. But, that's just Dad sitting in the living room-- YES, we let her in. :-)
Max is staring out the window-- looking for Santa. Max, Santa doesn't come until it's dark.
Anna is ready. She has her coat on again and I think she's going outside Christmas Eve to look for him and the reindeer. I'll be with her!
Merry Christmas!!

Duchess/NEW GRANDSON

I have a new grandson-- born a month early yesterday. His sister, "Bitty Bit" is very excited! She is 2 1/2.
He has lots of hair and weighed 7.5 pounds. Big boy for so early.
His biggest sister, "Lil Bit" is so excited, too.
I guess he just didn't want to miss Christmas this year!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Duchess was in a Maryland shelter-- she came in because her owners said their granddaughter was allergic to her. This might be true-- but people give a lot of reasons for giving up their dogs. I think sometimes, they just don't want them anymore.
But, Duchess was picked up by her foster mom and she brought a new, fancy harness for her! Duchess knew she was beginning a new life. She was afraid in the shelter, but she's not afraid now!
"Where are we going?"
Duchess is looking around her new foster home-- I think she approves. :-)
Yes, I think she settled in very quickly. She was a little bossy with the two Pekes who lives there-- she had to learn she was NOT the boss. And she did.
Duchess was just adopted and is now in her forever home. Her new mom's work friends gave her a "dog shower" to get Duchess all set up with beds and toys. Amazing!! She wasn't in rescue long! She got her Christmas wish-- a new mom and a new home!

Sugar Annie

Check out this video of Stitch, one of our foster dogs, and Clarence, his Peke "brother" (his foster mom's dog). Stitch loves to have a friend! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n08APUKufCg

SUGAR ANNIE
This is Sugar Annie. She was adopted a few years ago, but her mom sends me pictures to keep me updated on Sugar's adventures. I love getting updates (even though lately I've been slow at getting them on-- sorry!)
Sugar has a favorite turkey toy-- she got this for Thanksgiving and I think she's telling him secrets-- like what she wants for Christmas!
Look at how beautiful she is-- she reminds me of my Cranberry-- you know, The Queen!
Her mom and dad sent us a letter than Sugar wrote to me. I'm going to share it with you. She sent it in November (I know, I'm late! I'm slow! I'm bad!), but hopefully, she'll forgive me and send me Christmas pictures soon. Here's her letter:
Thanks for rescuing me and taking care of me until my forever Mommy and Daddy found me 2 years ago. I am happy here and only a little spoiled (well, maybe alot) and Mommy and Daddy love me so much. I got to eat turkey today too. I ate real turkey, but not Daisy and Harley (the parakeets).I like them but sometimes they get pretty noisy.Sending you some pictures we took today. Will send some Christmas ones in a few weeks. Hope you all had a wonderful day.Mommy & Daddy says hi too.Love, Sugar
I'm so glad you were rescued Sugar! You just needed a chance-- and now you have your own home with a mom and dad who loves you VERY much.

Trio and Arbie

Remember Trio (formerly Georgia)? She was adopted several months ago and she's taking a nap here with Arbie, her sister Peke mix. They are so perfect together and became best friends immediately.
They love to sleep together, curled up under the blanket.
Trio is trying to figure out what in the world is on her nose!
Wherever Arbie is, Trio is. From the first day, these two were fast friends, never far apart. They love to play, sleep, eat and run-- TOGETHER.
And snuggling with each other is the best-- Trio loves her big sister.
Trio noticed her mom packing to go somewhere and she was determined to go. Maybe she was going to the North Pole to see Santa! Maybe Trio could sneak in the suitcase and go find Santa's workshop. Wouldn't that be an adventure!?
Trio and Arbie's mom and dad sent me some videos of them that I know you'll enjoy. Trio learned to sing-- but only for her dad!
I wonder if she's going to sing when Santa comes-- I bet she will!

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!

It snowed in Richmond. A Lot! Jeanne, our foster mom in Richmond, sent me pictures. Jill Lee, above, is checking out the snow. "What happened here? It didn't look like this yesterday."
Jeanne's pond is almost invisible.
Her pots are overflowing-- with snow.
Her patio, where we've relaxed in the warmer months, is now VERY chilly!
Her beautiful garden is only good to watch, not roam in.
But, her Pekes are all curled up inside. They're in front of the radiator. Her husband, Bill, built a "cabinet" for the radiator-- he can do anything! This is very clever, just open it when you need it. And the dogs said, "I need it! Open the doors, dad!" Aren't they cute, all snuggled up together.
Cindy, with her back to us, and Hanna, and Amy are so cute. Amy is posing-- she knows she's cute. But, aren't they all!
And then there is MoeMoe, Essie's dog. She's another foster home-- a great one!-- in Richmond. MoeMoe loves to be outside. You go for it, MoeMoe! I'll stay IN! :-)

Tess, Teddy and Friends

This isn't a Peke. :-) Just have to keep you all on track. This is a beautiful blue Doberman. This is Trena. She looks brown, I know-- but she is a blue Doberman. This picture was taken by a photographer at a Doberman Rescue fund raiser-- he was determined to get her picture, but she wasn't cooperating well. I still thinks she's beautiful.
This is Tori-- her moms help with Doberman Rescue. I know-- amazing that Dobies and Pekes can get along, but they are all great friends in this home! Tori was a dog who picked THEM. (Just like Starlight picked US.) Initially, she had some sores that wouldn't heal while she was in the rescue kennel, a front leg that bent oddly at the ankle and severe heartworms.
Her parents have worked hard to heal the sores and eliminate the heartworms. Now we are working on the bent ankle which they now know has a broken bone. (She goes to the specialist on Monday for more help-- we sure hope she can be helped and healed!)
Look at this one! Isn't she beautiful. I think this is Tess, who they adopted from us. (She wasn't my foster dog, so I get confused-- imagine that!) Tess was adopted a few months ago and her parents wanted to give an older Peke a home. Tess was rescued from a back yard breeder in NC and was a sweetheart when I picked her up. She has arthritic and takes deramaxx every day (if your dog has arthritis, I give them to my dogs here, all five of them! It's a wonderful med for them.) Tess' parents told me they are so grateful to have her, and this makes my heart smile!
Isn't this cute! Look at the size differences. They are: Teddy, Maggie, Tess and Vicky. Teddy is the perfect playmate for Maggie. Each day they engage each other in a game of "I can run faster than you can". It is fun to watch for their foster moms to watch!
Look at Teddy and Tess. Teddy is one who loves to play and Tess enjoys just hanging out. They were both adopted from our rescue group. Their names began with a T in rescue-- but their moms say, "It seems if your name begins with "T" and you are a canine in need of a home .......The fun part is that we named Vicky and Maggie and elected to keep the names lovingly provided while Trena, Tori, Teddy and Tess were in rescue. I guess you could say they suit us to a "T" - you could see that one coming, couldn't you! "
I'm just so glad they all have a loving home for Christmas! Their mom said to me, "I just can't help myself - I look at my guy and gals and grin." That is gift enough !!

Ollie and Buffy

Ollie and his best girl, Buffy, are waiting for Santa. I really want to go to their house this year because it's CHRISTMAS there! When Ollie was adopted a few years ago, I did his mom and dad's home check-- WOW, I fell in love. With his mom and dad and their house! It was all decorated for Christmas and she said I could come back this year to see it again. It's on my list!
Buffy, on the bench, and Ollie, obviously think it's a great place to be. toys are all over.
This reindeer must be telling them secrets about Santa's where-abouts. They're listening intently. I wonder if they're finding out where Santa's workshop is.
WOW, look at Ollie-- it must be some secret they're hearing! And Buffy is leaning in for more details!
No, Buffy, that's not Santa-- that's a wooden Santa. That one won't give any details on where Santa is.
Is Santa outside? Is that what the little reindeer said?
They're posing under the tree with their Christmas outfits. I'm sure they're letting everyone know they are not on the naughty list-- they're on the GOOD PEKINGESE list!
Now how did that reindeer get on the table? Ollie is trying to find out more information since Santa was not outside on the lawn.
Ollie is telling him something-- like "give me more information!"
I guess they've given up. Buffy is hanging out of the stairs. Waiting. Patiently. Waiting.
Okay, maybe not so patiently. Do you see him Buffy?
I like your pillow-- is it more comfortable to wait there?
Okay, this doesn't look more comfortable-- but maybe Santa will think you're asleep and come by to fill your stockings. I hope so! You've been so good this year and your mom and dad sure do love you. Let me know what you get for Christmas!
Their mom emailed me to say "Santa will definitely visit them as they have been our angels this year and we love them dearly."
