FAREWELL SWEET GIZZY

Gizzy came into rescue after his owner could no longer care for him.   He had a lot of skin issues and his foster parents took this on, determining that they would help him get healthy.
His dad wrote me an email and I'll share it here.   It's more heartfelt and beautiful than I could ever write.
"Hi Linda,  It is with tearful eyes and a supremely heavy heart that I share with you the passing of our sweet beautiful boy Gizzy.
He came into our lives in January 2016 and he gave us six wonderful years of love and laughter and unconditional devotion.
He was our first foster and we failed joyfully.
That year, he was my Christmas present with a bow for a collar and sitting under the tree.
We were happily a failed foster family.
Over the years he travelled with us everywhere and was loved by all.
Although we were able to claim victory over his allergies and restore his beautiful coat of fur and even manage the pain of his degenerative arthritis we could not beat the ravages of time.
His little body finally gave out and he let us know clearly that he was ready.
On Thursday 4/14 in his home and in our arms we helped him to be free of his broken little body.
We thank Dr Scotti of Journeys End for making possible the most compassionate ending anyone could have.
Attached are a bunch of pictures from all through the years.
(Here with his brother, Doolin.)
Colleen, Doolin and I continue to adjust to a life without him but through the tears we know we did the right thing for him.
He gave us everything he had and finished so very well.
(He was a Daddy's boy--
He was so loved.)
We love you Gizzy and will look for you when we get there and we will be a family together again.
Until then, run and find Jeanne and tell her thank you for us.   We are forever grateful to her for bringing you and PVPC into our life."
