THE NEWEST BIT

My blog is late today-- but I was busy.    We welcomed the newest bit yesterday.
Beach Bit and Poppy were so excited!
I spent a lot of the day there, just waiting to hold her.
Beach Bit was such a proud big brother!
Daddy looked pretty funny in all his scrubs.
Beach Bit is in love with his new sister.    He wanted to hold her all the time.
But, the lights of her new world were a little bright!
 Her room is all ready.
She even has a "bit" book.
Welcome to the world little one!!  We love you!

MADDIE

Maddie came into rescue in June, 2008.   Has it been that long ago??
She was part of a court case for animal neglect/abuse.   She had to remain in the shelter for 3 months until our volunteer could get her.   Yes, we thought she was a Peke-- she's a mix and adorable.   The rescue committee said she was just too sweet to leave there.
Once we got her, she showed what a precious girl she was.   Her mom has stayed in touch and look at her now!   Do you think she's spoiled??
I can't believe she keeps her sunglasses on.    She a great girl!
She loved seeing Santa and I'm sure she got everything she asked for.
She loves to dress up and go places where she can make people smile.    Her parents absolutely adore this little girl.
I wonder how many pairs of sunglasses she has?    She is just too cute!
She gets to ride in a golf cart and watch the sunset.    She loves her home and her parents-- it couldn't get any better!!

PICNIC SILENT AUCTION

Our picnic is coming up soon!!    It is May 16 and it's getting close!   Kai Kai wishes he could go, but he gets too nervous on the long drive there for us.    Don't worry-- my daughter will be here with him to keep him company.  (And the rest of the gang.)
For details, look at this blog:  Click here: Must Love Pekes: PEKE PICNIC-- MAY 16, 2015--SAVE THE DATE!    Lexie wonders if the Pekingese pathway leads to the picnic.   No, sorry, it doesn't, it just goes around the fence, sweet girl.
My Max would love to go, too.    He knows there is a silent auction there and lots of goodies are available.   We want to know if you are bringing something for the auction.   We would love to raise lots of money for our Pekingese, so please let us know if you are bringing an item (or more!) for the auction.    You can reply on this blog or send an email to Robin at   reply@potomacpekes.org   Just let us know what it is.
Monkey might be there.   He is new to rescue.    He's a bit of a mix--we were told he was a Peke, but he's not full Peke.   He sure is cute though.    He wants lots of Peke items-- or other special things-- for sale.  The items do not have to be dog related-- we just want to raise money! :-)
I hope to see you all there at the picnic.   Remember, we need RSVPs so we have enough food for everyone!   See you soon!!

COSMO-- FIRST FOSTER DOG

I began doing rescue with PVPC in 2003-- 12 years ago next month.    It was the month I became a grandmom for the first time.    I had applied to be a foster mom and received a call about a little boy who needed a foster home.    His name was Cosmo.  Look at those teeth!
Cosmo was a youngster and has the most adorable under-bite.    I had him for a month before he was adopted by Jim and Marian.
They already had Winston and these two became fast friends.   They even had a painting done of them by Ania of Ania Milo Fine Art and Pet Portraits.     She is one of our facebook friends and she loves Pekes!
The "boys" live near the beach now and love going for strolls there.
I love that I have been able to be friends with Cosmo's parents-- he was my first foster and he will always be so special.    Many have come and gone since Cosmo was here, but none will ever take his place as my "FIRST" who began me on this journey of helping Pekes.  Love you, Cosmo!!

TWINKIE

I received an email asking for help for this tiny Peke-a-poo.   Her name is Twinkie and she is only 4 years old.   She is housetrained, loving, spayed, and she loves to play ball!    She reminds me of Lexie, who has a tiny yellow tennis ball, too.
Oh, I wish our own adoptions happened so fast!  Within hours, we had someone who wanted to adopt her, who we knew would be a wonderful family and they are going to get her next week.   So, if you emailed me, texted me, or asked about her on facebook, it looks like she will go to her forever home next week.   Thank you for all the interest in this sweet little 9 pounder.    We have Pekes who need homes, too.  So please look on our web site to see if you can give one of our fosters a forever home.   www.potomacpekes.org    We'd love to find homes for our sweet Pekes who need loving homes just like Twinkie did.

PEANUT DOODLE AND FRIENDS

Peanut Doodle's mom asked me the other day how I chose who to do blogs on.   No reason-- I just do them.   The funny thing was that I was already planning to do one on their family. :-)
Ziggy grabs my heart everytime I see him.   I just love his lopsided mouth and his laid back attitude.
Daisy  is a big part of the family-- emphasis on big. :-)
Ziggy keeps an eye on her even though Daisy doesn't know it.  I see you Ziggy!!
I think Daisy puts up with a lot-- do you agree?
Chloe is a beauty-- look at her tiny mouth.
Boo has found some sunshine.   It's funny how dogs can find that patch of sunlight and plop right down in the middle of it.
Belle is the latest to join the family.    She had eye surgery and is showing some signs of dimentia.   But, you know me, I love these seniors.   There is something about giving an older one a forever home-- no matter how long or short it is.
Are you still watching them, Ziggy.
This is one happy doggy family.    Chloe, Ziggy, Peanut and Boo are posing.  I'm sure the rest are near-by.    I haven't met this family in person-- they are the opposite coast from me-- but facebook allows us to be friends with so many wonderful people and Pekes/dogs.   I'm glad I know your family!!

LACY BEANS

 Hi Miss Linda,
I am sharing the pictures Momma took of me. Aren't  I pretty. :) Momma took me to the garden store. There were so many pretty flowers. And sooooo many people.
I had my picture taken by so many strangers...it was rather exhausting.
The best part was... Haha that Mr. Winks had to stay home. This was girls day. :) I loved it. I got to see the goats, and the llamas.
So many people wanted to pet me and they just thought I was so cute. We went to ACE hardware too looking at herbs. Mom is obsessed with herbs. Then we went to the pet barn, we're mom gets all of our food. They just were all so excited to see me. More pictures..
I am so tired ...all this work over flowers. :)

Big hugs....and a special one to little Lexie,

Miss Lacy, skittles beans.....
